8 (C)'s and 6 (A)'s, :?: Was a two tier squad the real reason behind the team bonding trip.

Easier to see why he would leave citing personal reasons after a long tour.

It can't be a coincidence that all 6 (A) grade players are the very same 6 CPL franchise players.

I believe the pay grades are roughly as follows

(A) $120 000, (B) $85 000, (C) $60 000, I'm don't know appearance fees or win bonus' are calculated.

That would mean the cost of retaining these players for one year is approximately $1 165 000.

That seems like a small cost to a company which ran up over $6 000 000 of losses in 2012-2013.

The retainers run from Oct - Sept.

I've seen it suggested that the WICB would rather play non productive players who are under contract than have them do nothing while still getting paid. Only after the contracts have expired do they consider potential replacements - I think that may be pretty accurate.

In practice, Tino Best and Sammy only just signed new contracts in October 2013, get use to their faces

You can see why Jordan opted for England...this money is chicken feed, compared to what he can earn playing for Sussex and England.

I wouldn't pay too much attention to that "list" ...Shilly been banned so how the hell they could justify giving him one is anyones guess...also Holder and Kraigg are in the one day and test side right now...so again not giving them a contract wouldn't add up...not to mention Rampaul's fitness issues that's been stopping him from playing!!..the whole thing don't make sense  .

and btw the sums quoted above is just speculation...not fact.

It's last years list - read the title of the thread.

WICB player contracts run from October - September :!: .

The WICB cannot afford to pay Best and Sammy while they sit :!: (Or don't want to).

Yep, this list of contracted players comes from the press release just put out by the WICB, in the link in the OP....

These players were awarded contracts which began three months ago, and will run for another nine months.

If those figures are "speculation", Afro, then what do you think they are?

This is what they were worth two years' ago....

And they had not increased from two years prior to that. Is there any good reason to believe that they have significantly increased?
