Mahela Jayawardene is a member of the elite 10K club----in 136 tests he has scored 10671 runs with 31 hundreds and 43 fifties.

BUT JAYAWARDENE'S TEST AVERAGE HAS JUST DROPPED BELOW THE MAGICAL 50 MARKER.

After failing in the first test against Australia---he scored 12 and 19---Jayawardene's test average is now 49.86

The minimum requirement for statistical greatness is a 50.00 test average.

* 9 batsmen in the elite 10K average 50+----Jayawardene has just fallen below.

RE: KUMARA SANGAKKARA

* Sanga will be the 11th batsman to enter the 10K club---with his score on 54* in the 2nd innings of the first test against Australia---Sanga has 9951 test runs---49 more to enter the 10K club---his test average is a healthy 55.90

the elite 10K club

Interesting stats Rev... Jayawardene is a class batsman and will get over the 50 average mark soon.

Congrats to Sanga, the 2nd Sri Lanka to joined the Elite 10K club.

Siddle to Sangakkara, OUT, another review, Sangakkara given lbw once more, this looks close, short of length ball, no bat involved, that was pitching on middle, heading for middle, that kept low to beat Sangakkara, who was caught on the crease, his long vigil is over, and Australia have the key wicket

KC Sangakkara lbw b Siddle 63 (226b 6x4 0x6) SR: 27.87
Sanga(9960) needs 40 runs to enter the elite 10K club in tests---he'll get it done in his next test.

AFTER SANGAKKARA ENTERS THE 10K CLUB

* Sehwag(8559 runs) and Smith(8569) will battle to become the 12th member of the 10K club.

Jayawardene averages an ordinary 39.59 in 55 AWAY tests.

It's highly unlikely he'll regain the 50 test average in Australia.
