T&TCB lauds victorious Carifta athletes

THE TRINIDAD and Tobago Cricket Board (T&TCB) has extended its congratulations to the national junior athletics team which on Monday returned home after successfully competing in the 43rd Carifta Games in Fort de France, Martinique.

"T&T bagged 25 medals comprising six gold, seven silver and 12 bronze which helped them to second place in the overall medal standings behind Jamaica who ended the four-day event with a record 88 medals. Barbados placed third with 16 medals while Guyana and Guadeloupe were fourth and fifth respectively."

"The irrepressible Jaheel Hyde, the IAAF World Youth 110m hurdles champion, won three gold medals, including running a personal best 13.10 seconds in the Under-18 boys' sprint hurdles final....Michael O'Hara copped the boys' Under-20 200m title in 20.50, ahead of his Jamaican teammate Jevaughn Minzie, who ran 20.56. Levi Cadogan of Barbados was third in 20.64 seconds."
