Hallam Moseley's sidearm throw

Action from the rest of the world....

Hallam Moseley's sidearm throw

Postby Chrisps » Wed May 09, 2012 4:30 pm

Hallam Moseley (Barbados and Somerset, 1970s) had the most distinctive throwing style I've seen amongst professional cricketers. It was a sidearm whip at about waist level. Does anyone know why he adopted it? Has anyone seen another player with such an unorthodox throwing action?

Moseley came to mind when I was thinking about throwing in general, and my own 'shot' shoulder in particular on Declaration Game: http://wp.me/p1OY5E-8a

An excellent blog, Chrisps....

The science of throwing is often overlooked by armchair fans. But teams are placing a lot more emphasis on it in recent times.

Mikesiva, throwing is one of the areas where cricket could learn from baseball. T20 batting, which often looks like baseball to me, may be another.

Thanks for your kind words about Declaration Game.
