A first for the ground sees a Beer Festival taking place throughout the three-day match. Hosted by Greene King, Sussex will be welcoming a range of beers from around the County and beyond for sampling and purchase, and there will also be taster sessions taking place.

Matthew James Prior was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, in the early 1980’s before moving to England at the age of 11. He represented England at all ages up to and including the U19’s squad, making his Sussex debut in 2001. Currently, Matt is arguably the world’s leading wicket keeper batsman in Test cricket, a belief held by a number of players and pundits around the world, with an average of 44.71 and 144 catches to his name.

I am sure Prior will be rested for this game.

For anyone visiting England for the game:

Information about Southern's train service number 186 from London (Victoria) to Hove.

Train 186 London (Victoria) - Clapham Junction - East Croydon - Gatwick Airport - Haywards Heath - Hove

It will be easier for the West Indies....

They most likely flew into Gatwick, which is in Sussex. They most likely went straight to the hotel, where they will stay and travel to the match.

But what about weather conditions for the match itself? Saturday will be very cloudy with possibility of drizzly rain and bad light, a maximum temperature of 11 Celsius, while Sunday is expected to be cloudy, but a little brighter, with a maximum temperature of 10 Celsius.

Compare that to the temperatures that were in the Barbados Test (29 Celsius) and the Trinidad Test (33 Celsius)....

Not on your life!

For the first in a long time, I don't feel this any desire to watch this West Indies Test squad....

Depending on whom is selected for the ODI squad, I may go and watch an ODI at the Oval.

Go for the beer festival - the cricket is only incidental, plus it's a bank holiday weekend!!
