TIME TO MOVE ON FROM THE ENGLAND DEBACLE!!!Whilst watching the first test between Sri-lanka and Pakistan the other day it just reminded me again how CONDITIONS really can be the deciding factor in this great old game, there was Pakistan, who had recently toyed with England in the UEA but yet Sri-lanka was murdering them in similar conditions, a team ranked just above us, so on reflection, could we really expect to go to England with such an unexperienced squad and win? NO CHANCE, but what it did do is give these yutes vital experience, so the next time they go there they won't have any surprises,
We've got a really good run of fixtures coming up now and i firmly believe we can WIN all of them, looking at our squad there is no doubt whatsoever that we have some good players.. Gayle Chanderpaul Samuels Darren Bravo Roach Rampaul To name a few, there are question marks over others but i think this series against NZ will be the perfect opportunity for them to make an impact, people like Narine, Ramdin (to continue his form after the ton), Kirk Edwards, Fudadin, Barath or Powell etc, Then there's the chance a few new players coming into the mix such as Johnson, Holder or Permaul, they might even look at Carter where the batting is concerned too!!..who knows? the bottom line is this will hopefully be the start of a good run for us now, the tough teams like India, Australia and England are out of the way, this run will give us the chance to learn how to win again, because lord knows these guys haven't done it in a long time.

Re: TIME TO MOVE ON FROM THE ENGLAND DEBACLE!!!Gayle
Chanderpaul Samuels Darren Bravo Roach Rampaul I have some concerns: Samuels and consistency: he had a great recent run but he tapered off towards the end. samuels is a head case and one mus' always be watchful where he is concerned. Rampaul: a man with a giant fitness problem..a discipline problem then because he cant keep to a regimen that keeps his weight in line..cant stick to a proper diet and exercise regimen. this shud have been a great season for rampaul after the basis he laid in India/Bang and the previous home season. it was anything but. Darren Bravo: way too loose a player for my liking. he too shud have had a much bettter season that he had. in fact Darren was a disaster after the successful 18 month period betwewn his debut and the Indian tour. it is not so much he failed but how he failed. he ran into challenges he made no proper responses to. he did not score a dung heap ton and that did not seem to matter to him. it mattered to me. Darren should have torn up dung heap after his success away. he had to. dung is dung heap and if he cant tear that up after what he did overseas we have a problem. Powell went to england, came back and immediately demonstrated the benefits of that experience by tearing up a good Indian A team. Darren dd not do that. he regressed terribly. since he failed in dung heap I never had the sense he was going to score against the Oz. I was hopeful about him in england but I lost that after the first test. what i had and lost was a sense of confidence in darren I got from his Sri Lanka scores. I got the sense then, that he was a coming batsman of significant ability. I never really had that sense about him this year from dung heap and all the way through england. something had been lost by dung heap this year. it may be Darrens attitude, which seemed poor from the start this year. I hope he rebounds but his work is cut out fuh him. he has to beat his own attitude and indiscipline. he has not arrived yet but he appears to believe he has..that all he has to do is walk to the crease and score. well..not even dung heap bowlers concede that right to any batsman. he will have to work for his runs because no one is going to give them to him. on the contrary dung heap or not deh all want to dismiss him for nought anyway. who wants to field all day in the hot sun torn apart by lil Bravo? Re: TIME TO MOVE ON FROM THE ENGLAND DEBACLE!!!
the WI teams of past must have been Aliens then!! cause they were kicking ass in all conditions! now for the serious reponse! Stop making fooking excuses!!!!!!!!!! this WI team suck!! The problem starts at the head of WI cricket!!
Re: TIME TO MOVE ON FROM THE ENGLAND DEBACLE!!!
Erm that "team of the past" was probably the GREATEST test team EVER you dumb idiot!!..so expecting these guys to somehow be able to adapt so quickly is utterly retarded
Re: TIME TO MOVE ON FROM THE ENGLAND DEBACLE!!!So, what conditions do the West Indies need in order to win? Because we're losing at home AND away....
Re: TIME TO MOVE ON FROM THE ENGLAND DEBACLE!!!For a start having Gayle, Samuels and Narine back for the home series will be a bonus!!
Re: TIME TO MOVE ON FROM THE ENGLAND DEBACLE!!!well..if my memory is correct dat is wat mike and me were saying all along..that english conditions are normally tears for westindians to play in, the earlier an english tour starts the worse it is.
we condemned westindian authority for worsening this issue by agreeing to tours of england that begin in april and early may as the last 2 english tours..both weather-assisted, comprehensive westindian defeats. by way of english spring weather that is consistently cold, westindians have no chance at all of playing well there, at that time
