why is he being replaced..and by of all people Fidel Edwards

Fidel Edwards is a spent force in test cricket amd these are the Kiwi. if we have to replace Ravi then it makes sens to go with the youngster next in line Johnson.

in this case of experience vs youth it does not make sense to go with experience.

and I cant understand Ravis omission. he did nto look injured on the last day. he bowled well, contributed to the victory. one would think based on that performance that after a season of injury and unfitness finally Ravi was getting back to himself.

so wats the point of including him all the way through the Oz tour, england and now Kiwiw only to drop him when he appears to be getting his mojo back..and for Edwards who is now a nothing player

anyway injure or drop Fidel makes no sense!

I.B.Jamin on (August 01 2012, 10:40 AM GMT)I agree with kiwicricketnut im sorry, Vettori was very good but hasn't done anything in a long time, more importantly he looks like he doesn't want to be there(along with Martin). I like both players but NZ needs wicket takers and must bleed new players at the international level, because the gap between NZ domestic level and the international level is massive. I would try this: Southee(caused many problems for Gayle in ODI's), Bracewell, Wagner or Boult, Nethula and then an alrounder. Or maybe Wagner & Boult as you MUST take 20 wickets to win a test match. PERIOD.. If you cant do that, you cant win its that simple, and you must go on the field thinking you can win the test match.
