HPC vs Bangledash-A

Postby AFRO » Fri Sep 21, 2012 2:53 pm

Well according to the coach HERE there will be changes made from the last game which i expected to be honest!!..

West said batsman Jermaine Blackwood and Dawnley Grant, left-arm fast bowler Sheldon Cotterrell and left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican will all play this time around.

But he said this quartet would be expected to perform at the same level or better than the players they will be replacing.

“I think we will need more contributions with the bat, since several players were dismissed for single figures, so I think everybody will need to contribute in this match,” he said

Well Grant is a fast bowlers actually, so i expect our attack to be very different to the one that faced the Bang academy, also with Warrican set to play i'd assume Permaul will be left out as he's a left-arm spinner like Warrican,

So my team would be

Fletcher
Griffith
Barcley
Hope
Lesporis
Blackwood
Brathwaite (c)
Hamilton (wk)
Cotterrell
Grant
Warrican

I don't know if Cariah will be dropped though after getting eight wickets in the last game, the thing is Blackwood is a very handy off-spinner so he can make up for the spin plus he's a better batter, I was thinking they might just drop Barcley for Blackwood and leave Cariah in but i guess we'll have to wait and see,

Big game for Warrican aswell, Permaul will be hard to follow and Warrican hasn't played much top level cricket although he's been a beast at junior level,

Hope the batters can continue their good form too, another ton from Hope would be fantastic for the kid, big game for Cotterrell i think, out of all the bowlers he's the one with the x factor, if he's in the mood he has the potential to run through that line-up, i wanna see how much he's progressed since he's been with the HPC, while Grant remains a mystery, word is he bowled in the nets during the recent Australia series after coming back from a long term injury and Gibbo was blown away by what he saw, so it will be interesting to see how he gets on.

Well the confirmed team is in fact... FOLLOW MATCH HERE

Fletcher
Griffith
Barcley
Hope
Blackwood
Cariah
Hamilton (wk)
Brathwaite (c)
Permaul
Cotterrell
Warrican

I honestly don't understand why they bothered to play TWO left arm spinners there!!!..and why was Lesporis rested and Barcley retained after Lesporis got more runs in the last game?

Just odd man, anyway at lunch it's 82/2, Permaul took the two early wickets and had them 27/2 but it all went downhill from there, Warrican had a nightmare three overs and went for 18 runs, Carlos Brathwaite seems to be stuck on using the spinners which is making things very comfortable for the bang batsmen right now, i mean isn't that what they are used to? :? thus far Cotterrell has only bowled five overs, just not enough man and i can see bang building up a decent lead if things don't change soon, that Warrican pick instead of Grant has unbalanced the attack imo.

AND COTTERRELL GETS HIS FOURTH WICKET TO FINISH OFF BANG-A's innings!!!.. WHAT A FECKING SPELL!!!.. three wickets in five balls to rhatid!! :o , his figures are 9-3-15-4 ..JUST BRILLIANT!!, and to think he only got 5 overs at the start of the day and never had another chance until very late!!, also thats his first 4fer in any senior game from what i gather, man i so happy for the yute and this is what i was waiting for, so many times he's have an unplayable spell and not get what he deserved but today he couldn't be denied.

GREAT COMEBACK and lets hope the batters can really make this count now and get a big lead tomorrow.

A good performance by the HPC...I rate this higher than the match against Bangladesh's Academy, of course.
8-)
Cotterell with 4-15, and two wickets each for Permaul and Warrican, as Bangladesh are restricted to 199 all out.
