West Indies takes on Sri Lanka in a three-match ODI series in Barbados on 25 April
Sri Lanka’s Shashikala Siriwardena and Chamari Atapattu are visitors’ highest-ranked players with chance to climb up the rankings

West Indies all-rounder Stafanie Taylor will be looking to cement her place at the top of the Reliance ICC Women’s ODI Player Rankings for batters this week with the beginning of her side’s three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka which starts in Barbados on Wednesday (25 April).

ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year 2011, Taylor, currently tops the batting table with a 63-rating points lead over India’s Mithali Raj. Should Taylor perform well in the series in Barbados she could further secure her spot as not only the number one batter but also the number one all-rounder.

The 20-year-old Jamaican right-hander also tops the Reliance ICC Women’s ODI Player Rankings for all-rounders with an 85-point lead over Australia’s Lisa Sthalekar.

Taylor’s team-mates Deandra Dottin (seventh), captain Merissa Aguilleira (17th) and Juliana Nero (20th) all have a good chance to bat their way up the batting rankings in the series against Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka’s highest-ranked batter is Chamari Atapattu who will be keen to improve on her current ranking of 22nd.

The bowling rankings are currently topped by Sthalekar but spinners Taylor and her team-mate Anisa Mohammed are currently ranked sixth and seventh, and could potentially challenge and displace a number of the players ranked above them.

Outside of the top 10, Sri Lanka captain Dilani Manodara will be wanting good performances from two of her key bowlers, off-spinner Shashikala Siriwardena (15th) and medium-pacer Chamani Seneviratna (19th) to give the visitors a chance of victory against the in-form West Indies women.
