THE Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board (T&TCB) has announced the official start of preparations for the 2012 Champions League T20 Championships which will be staged in South Africa later this year.

T&T have already qualified for the CLT20 by virtue of winning the Caribbean T20 Championships which were contested in January. This year will mark the third time in four years that T&T will be participating in the lucrative competition.

On Friday the T&TCB announced that 38 players have been called to trials beginning on Thursday, July 5 from 9 am at the National Cricket Centre in Balmain, Couva. The sessions will be conducted by Technical Director David Williams with the assistance of national coach Kelvin Williams who has specific responsibility for the national youth teams.

Among them are brothers Dwayne and Darren Bravo, Denesh Ramdin, Ravi Rampaul, Kieron Pollard, Sunil Narine, Samuel Badree, Lendl Simmons and Adrian Barath.
