Ramnaresh Sarwan has signed a new two-year contract with Leicestershire CCC which will keep him at the Club until at least the end of the 2014 season.

Sarwan has been a tremendous influence on the Grace Road dressing room and has put in a number of fine performances on the field.

The batsman has scored 608 LV=CC runs at an average of 43.42 and has also brought out the best in our young batsmen like Josh Cobb and Greg Smith during lengthy partnerships with the duo.

Sarwan, who is a class act, has registered two half-centuries and two hundreds in the LV=CC and also made a magnificent 115 in 89 balls against Netherlands in the CB40 competition.

Leicestershire CCC is thrilled to have Sarwan extend his stay at Grace Road. Chief Executive Mike Siddall said: “Ronnie has created a tremendous impression since he joined us.

“We are delighted to have secured his services for another two seasons. He is a fantastic player and his influence on our younger players has been excellent.”
