I just hear the coach said they can't be complacent...   is Gibson for real? Tell me or ask your GREAT coach what his team has done lately so they can't afford to be complacent now... :)
yu not reading me and croft fully, accurately. you doh like gibbo! yuh bias, even if yuh bias now appears consistent with the truth of Gibbos quality as a coach.

I have not paid dat much atention to him. but crofts argument is not all that hot. if playing success is THE arbiter of quality coaching why isnt he croft coaching?

if he needs to read and regurgitate to get a coaching paper why not. maybe he is the one to lead a reclamation of westindian cfricket glory?

but that clearly is not crofts intention from the way he talks. croft intends to stay in his ivory tower and chat shit forever

a quality coach is a quality coach and he may or may not have been a great player to have the magic of a great coach. so croft by injecting a comparison between he and gibbo does no service to anyone, he just displays for all to see his own insecutiry.

as an interested, concerned and committed analyst, a westindian dealing with westindian problems, full of the very experience he boasts about... dont you want somethng far more useful, better, from croft that dat diatribe above?

how come he does not demand of himself as a journalist, analyst, writer, the same excellence he demands from the westindian team?

you bally shud not only want soemthing better from croft but expect it. since he he is holding people to high levels, boasts he had a high level himself but he does not display a high level in that article linked above

How am I bias when it comes to Gibbo...? Man, tell me which is a LIE that Croft wrote about him? We are so easy on our own players, countrymen, etc that we just accept mediocrity. we all knew before, all dat croft said about Gibbo and the players. and when speaking to the media players have to talk as they do.

and who have been easy on the players? no one dats who!

and mediocrity? westindian society is rooted in mediocrity. westindian society is mediocrity itself. so in thier mediocrity the players are merely a reflecton of their society. to get an excellent side again the westindies have to produce excellent people who would become excellent cricketers among many so much else.

yu see... croft with all his years and success should be an elder, speak like one, be broad and insightful as elders are..be guiding, counselling, courageous yet diplomatic so he could attack a problem at its heart, speak full truth, clarify the issue for all to see, and still ruffle no feathers.

thats what I expect from someone like croft. I tell you that man needs some help. he shud go seek it

now if skunt hunte hired gibbo and it turns out that gibbo is a clone of buttsy, Sammy and hilaire, or imran khan... it fits the situation for we ought not expect from hunte anything different. that apparently is the way he operates

if all we see around hunte are yes men why would gibbo be different?

and dat apparently is what the situation is with the westindian coach.

but did croft say anyhting like that? did he give any indication as to the why of gibbo, the how of him, and what should be done basically about the coaching?

shud we have a head coach at all or have coaches where they are necessary in specific areas like bowling, batting, fielding, keeping etc...while full leadership and responsibility for the team returns to the captain?

one expects from croft broad inputs not the emotional claptrap he always spews for the reading public
