Wurl Skup is right. dat that SK is informative indeed, telling, it sescribes the crasp this competiton has evolved into under the corrupt hands of the ICC.

just as entrenched, elitist corruption has brought a 'maljo' to westindies cricket....that same at the ICC has brought test cricket and the world cup, to 'tess cricket and wurl skup'.. truly pointless and skuntish activities.

I have been sorta following this wurl skup....here-after to be referred to only as skup..becuase I am looking forward to lil B scoring well.

the return of Sarwan, along with Shive also is interesting. thats a strong looking middle order that shud be tears to any opposition bowling on most days.

but the wesindies team is sick, rotted to the core by admin malfeasance let by the EXECRABLE AND CATASTROPHIC doctor JULIEN HUNTE!

Hunte wanted Sammy as captain badly. it seemed that Hunte would have done absolutely anyting at all to get Sammy in as captain and he did..no matter the consequences to the westindian team and its chances on the field.

some dung heap youngsters coming up are very interesring indeed, especially in the batting.

we all know the Bajans in there scoring up a storm. old head Sammy is also scoring and here is the kid Powell for the Leewards who display some promise at the top of the order

Carlos Brathwite stirred up some excitement with a great all-round performance against Titty and he figures high in the bowling stats to this point.

all these players evince a sense of class that has been absent over recent years and quicken the pulse about a westindian revival.

but there will be no revival if westindian cricket continues to be lead as it has been by the worst social/human element in westindian life...the westindian blac and brong elites!

Our world Cup campaign was always a lost cause....

But what of Kieron Pollard, who only seems to hit big runs against minnows?

He just seems incapable of building an innings against a side with a strong bowling attack. He doesn't seem to understand that batting is more than just clouting fours and sixes. Clearly, he needs some more practice playing four-day cricket for Trinidad.

The thing is, now that the Windies are coming home shortly, will he actually make himself available to play for Trinidad in the semi-finals of our domestic four-day tournament?

I wait with bated breath....

Pollard is a finished product mikesiva. he has played a world of 3-4 day cricket, from juniors to seniors. Pollards needs no more time, his personality as a batsman is set, and he is not good enough. I dont know how yu ent see dat yet!

Pollard will prollly improve eventually when years and years of experience finally takes its toll on his style and forces him by the sheer weight of reality to adjust.

but it wont happen in time to help westindies in ODI...prolly in T20.

in the meantime he shud still be useful for titty in 4-day, ODI and T20

The England Lions could only finish third, tied with Jamaica on 51 points, behind leaders CCC on 57, and Trinidad on 52 points.

Quite a few of us on this MB, including me, thought that the Lions would crush most of the teams in this tournament, for the following reasons:

1) According to the Test rankings, England are supposed to be ranked higher than the West Indies.

2) All of England's second-string players were packed into one side - the Lions. In contrast, the Caribbean second-string players were spread out among seven teams.

But the Lions could only manage two wins, drawing five of their games.

Does this mean that Caribbean domestic cricket is not as bad as we thought? Or was it bad, and we've improved in recent times?

England A had a couple of teams on the ropes but could not punch out their clocks.

thats a telling commentary on the quality of a side.

england A shud have beaten jamaica and could not get the last man in the very good time that remained.

england is just not as good as we thought...as I thought.

one factor could have been the loss of Bopara.

Bopara is a man who loves crappy bowling. he would have terrorised the westindies had he remained and probably given england the days they needed to get tail-enders out after scoring enough runs themselves in quick time :D :D
