Why Ottis, Richie, and Sammy dropped Shiv? Are they trying to push this Great Man out of West Indies Cricket?
Who can honestly look at West Indies Test and ODI stats for the past 12 months and say Shiv does't command a spot?

Honestly i know you love Shiv and all but you'd have to be EXTREMELY NAIVE to not understand why Shiv's been dropped TWICE recently, firstly those Test runs are quite decieving due to the fact that 160 of those runs came against South Africa on a flat track in a game that was drawn, everyone filled their boots including Nash who also got a ton,
Secondly he was VERY POOR in his last Test series in Sri-lanka with only a 50 to his name out there being the highlight, then in the ODI series against Sri-lanka he was poor again and was DROPPED, after that came the world cup where again he failed to deliver and was DROPPED again after being given chance after chance, so questioning why Gibbo dropped him is quite frivolous imo.

I'm not going to deny that I like Shiv. But, I'm objective at the same time. But who wouldn't appreciate and support a great player such as Shiv, dedicated to West Indies cricket? Who else can match Shiv's numbers for the last 12 months? Please don't just call names for names sake. Back it up with stats!
BTW, Shiv is being pushed out of West Indies cricket.
If they really dropped Shiv for the first two matches, why exactly they brought him in back for in the quarter finals? It just doesn't make sense.
Gibson is clueless along with Sammy and Richie. Some people alluded that dropping Shiv against England was to water dung the team so England go through to the quarter finals. Dropping him for the second game against India was probably for extra measure. It was DUMB to drop Shiv who is averaging 47 against England! West Indies lost to England by 18 runs! Do the math!
Now Gibson is bawling like a lil biatch that seniors didn't perform! Did he prepared the team properly? is he capable to do so? Which real coach blaming his players after the fact? Who would want to play for him? Why isn't Gibson manning up to his responsibility or his in ability to coach?

And this is where we disagree, Shiv USED to be a great player, he's not anymore.BallOil wrote:I'm not going to deny that I like Shiv. But, I'm objective at the same time. But who wouldn't appreciate and support a great player such as Shiv, dedicated to West Indies cricket?
Barath and Darren Bravo have only played one Test series in the last twelve months therefore it's unfair to compare their stats to Shiv while Sars and Samuels haven't played any for the last year for different reasons, so really Shiv's only competition has been Gayle (who has been better than him) and Nash (who was better than him in the SL series),Who else can match Shiv's numbers for the last 12 months? He's only got himself to blame for that.BTW, Shiv is being pushed out of West Indies cricket.
Because our batting lacked depth and he was the only experienced player on the bench, if Samuels had been there Shiv wouldn't have been picked IMO.If they really dropped Shiv for the first two matches, why exactly they brought him in back for in the quarter finals? It just don't make sense.
Ridiculous theory, despite losing to England and India we got a lot closer to winning those games than we did when we lost to South Africa WITH SHIV IN THE TEAM.Gibson is clueless along with Sammy and Richie. When your senior batsman like Shiv, Sars, Smith and Gayle bat stupidly why can't Gibbo say so? the players have to take part of the blame too!!..on two occasions we were in total control against England and India and both times we fell down like a ton of bricks, a coach can't put common sense in a batsman head, IT'S UP TO THEM to bat with intelligence and they didn't do that. Now Gibson is bawling like a lil biatch that seniors didn't perform! Did he prepared the team properly? is he capable to do so? Which real coach blaming his players after the fact? Who would want to play for him? Why isn't Gibson manning up to his responsibility or his in ability to coach?
As for Gibbo's ability as a coach, well it's a results business and in his last Test series he got a draw, if we lose against both Pakistan and India at home though then i believe he should be sacked.

Shivs' averages (both Tests and ODIs) are higher today than it was 5 or 10 years ago! What say you?

Stats can easily be manipulated, because i could just say a great spell three years ago is what got him those stats and now they are on the decline,BallOil wrote:I'll take this one by one with you...![]()

You can bring forth any "stat" you want but even your fellow Shiv defender Map has admitted that Shiv's been poor over the past year!!..so you can deal with stats and i'll deal with reality thank you very much!!

Well, manipulate the stats to support your argument then...AFRO wrote:Stats can easily be manipulated, because i could just say a great spell three years ago is what got him those stats and now they are on the decline,BallOil wrote:I'll take this one by one with you...![]()

I don’t think poster Mapoui is a Shiv supporter per se. Mapoui is a cricket connoisseur, one who’ve seen it all in WI cricket… I think Mapoui appreciates a great player, especially a West Indian such as Shiv.

Not really as i've stressed time and time again that Shiv was very poor in his last Test series in SL, would you like to talk about the "stats" from that series then?BallOil wrote: Well, manipulate the stats to support your argument then...![]()

Well it's a pity he holds prejudice views where Nash is concerned then!!I don’t think poster Mapoui is a Shiv supporter per se. Mapoui is a cricket connoisseur, one who’ve seen it all in WI cricket… I think Mapoui appreciates a great player, especially a West Indian such as Shiv.

So you are judging Shiv on ONE rain affect series rather than his 17 years of service? hmmAFRO wrote:Not really as i've stressed time and time again that Shiv was very poor in his last Test series in SL, would you like to talk about the "stats" from that series then?BallOil wrote: Well, manipulate the stats to support your argument then...![]()

Why aren't you calling out the players averaging less than Shiv in that series?
