education is the process by a society of developing its citizens.mr. cricket wrote:@howzdat
education is not that much of a problem ask pakistan team...no one is graduate apart from wicket keeper and misbah
@mapoui
yeah incompetence or i would say mismanagement is hurting WI
it can and often does include school education at levels from 1 to wherever it goes.
but it never was and is not now an education that is composed entirely of what one learns in school
the greatest scholar the westindies ever produced...and one of he very greatest scholars of all time... was CLR James..a man who never set foot in a university save to teach and lecture

true! but we are talkin about the same problem as in the westindies. it is a class/race question in which class is more important that race but in which race is a veru serious factor indeed.
it is the way society has been divided for economic exploitation for a very long time..
we are dealing with the results of that historical process everywhere, in our day and generation, trying to understand it, solve it as best we can.

naw..yu did no sammy. yu cant possibly be as bad as dat.
I hope westindies can re-surge as you pose. I really do. but I dont see it! the people who run the westindies do not think like it is necessary for anything at all to go good in the westindies.
look at what they have done so far man. look at the leaders they have produced: Gairy, Bustamante, Patterson, Portia, Burnhan, Bird, Bradshaw, Le Blanc....
go talk to these people, get to know them, see their policies. see the westindies itself, the people, who sit around waiting for messiahs with large pockets to bail them out, to feed them to build up their islands rather than doing it themselves..
waiting for corporations to come and provide jobs for them, even if they are horribly exploited in the process...people who do not even understand the meaning of or the absolute necessity of doing for self for no one can do for you wnat you must do for yourself.
all dat is a product of past expeience that ought to have beed rooted out of the westinain population from indepenence onwards with properly focused education. CLR James told them as much, argued for such developmental process, fought hard for it. they kicked him out, locked him up and drove him from the region
