I think it's too early to risk Brathwaite. I don't want us to create anothe Xavier Marshall. I would like to see him get another FC season under his belt, like Barath, before being considered.

I would do it primarily because Hafeez opened the bowling in both innings of the first Test, and a good way to counter that would be to use a middle-order batsman who's dominated our FC season recently. Samuels is much more competent at playing spin than Smith....
Sure, this may force Pakistan to resort back to using pacers Gul and Riaz, but on the dead batting track that is Warner Park, I don't think it will hold any serious terrors for Samuels.

, Brathwaite has already had two FC season behind him plus he's played at A-team level many times and even got a ton, so needless to say i disagree with you, pushing Samuels up would only create issues imo, it's best to give an opener the chance to play, the boy has to gain experience soon and on that St-kits wicket he should be fine.
