I hear a lot of talking about pride dis and pride dat. West Indies is made up of independent nations and they don't have anything in common. yet, I hear that the players don't have pride. What is West Indian pride? How do you measure pride?

I dont know what "West Indian Pride" is, but I do know what WEST INDIAN MEDIOCRITY is.

Take a look at the West Indies team---that's MEDIOCRITY for you----and they have been MEDIOCRE for 15+ years.

Take a look at West Indies players---check out their FIRST CLASS stats----that's MEDIOCRITY for you.

Take a look at West Indian fans----they see excellence in the young shythounds who parade as cricketers----what does that tell you about West Indian fans ? They are MEDIOCRE people.

there may be no westindian national pride for the same reason huckle mentions but I do believe there is much in common between the islands.

disimilarity is not a factor. the opposite is which is why the long-lived idea of a westiondian nation wont die, why the westindian elites have constatly made superficial attempts at unification and maitian the commomanlites unde the CARICOM rubric

it is the elites who are not serious about unification not the westindian people, who maintain regina contact at many levels.

in Trinidad for example there are few of african descent who cannot trace antecedents up the islands..the Dots.
also many of Indian descent who can and must trace their antecedents to guyana, even to grenada and st vincent...and even a few from jamaica

dont fool your fat there is a westindian nation. all you have to place obvious phenomena in front your eyes into proper context and presto..there is the nation.

but yu must not that it si the elites and the exploitative interest they represent that do not wish the real westindian antion to emerge and they have fought it from the start under cover of trying to make it real

the problem is at this time the old westindian fabric of nationhood dat remained alive after the failure of federation, watered by cricket, Worrell, Lloyd, Sobers, Viv has become frayed under 15 years of relentless assualt by the westindian blac and brown elites, led by such as Pat Rosseau, Teddy Griffith and Wes Hall, Ken Gordon and now the wost of them all, Julian Hunte...and no longer sustains the westindies cricket and our representative team.

what is necessary to reclaim the situation is a real nation now, a true maroon unified westindian nation, that wud once and for all end insularity, as represented now by the sectarian elites of the various islands, once they latch onto the wicb power.

once the cricket power is attained the wicb is turned into a kingdom and local control and the centring of all the perks in that location. the captain mut be from there regrdless. games must be played there, all the 'benefits' the conceive of os squeezed from the wicb and funnelled to their location.

I mean hunte even used wicb money to buy and refurbish his private offices in castries so that he cud 'do the wicb work' from the comfort of his home capital. ( at least dat is what I red in a report in one of the papers)
