Gibson says self-belief key to improvement

West Indies cricket coach Ottis Gibson is pleased with the talent in his team’s batting ranks but believes a lack of self-belief is one of the main reasons for their lack of productivity at the highest level. There were only two half-centuries from West Indies batsmen in the two-test series against Pakistan that finished this week.  Pakistan notched two centuries and five 50s, rebounding from a first-test loss to win the second match in St. Kitts. Gibson was delighted with his bowlers but admitted his batsmen failed to rise to the occasion. “The bowling seems to me to be a very, very positive sign,” he said in reflecting on the short series.
