We can't play two spinners when our attack is only gonna have FOUR bowlers!!.. plus if Gayle is recalled he can partner Bishoo in the spin department anyway.mapoui wrote:I want to get sulieman benn back in the side. benn is still the best, most experienced spinner we have and a good complement to bishoo...or bish to him
allyuh remember bishoo as he clearly demonstrated in the last 3 innings of the 2 tests is a learning project...an attacking bowler on his way but in need of the requisite experience to hone his skiils into the test player he is yet to become.
benn already is!

If you think Nash deserves to be dropped then Sars deserves to be dropped too!!.. because he was absolute garbage in the Tests, Edwards has earned his chance imo, he's got a 41 average in first class cricket and has done well for the A-team too, judging him on the ODIs alone simply isn't fair.mapoui wrote:my assessment of kirk edwards is that he is not good enuff period. I wud not go there again unless he raise his avearge over the next couple to say 45+
I wud stick with sarwan. he is bound to come good again. edwards is not as good as sarwan and does not promise a career anything like sarwan has acomplished. samuels before skash any day. simmons before skash. edwards before skash.
I wud play sars and put him back in his #3 slot!

there is a dimension here u not getting into AFRO. Sars is a test player with achievement none but shive have to their names. he is 31. in my mind there is no comparison betwen Sars and sknash at 33.
sknash will never achieve what sars has achieved and MAY regain. we have to give Sars more of a chance.
I am not impressed by edwards. yet if yu insist I wud play him before both sknash and Samuels. I see no big difference there and I wud be happy to err on the side of the younger man.
I wud pik simmons in the middle order before all 3 of them
but none of the 3 wud be in my side before sars for the simple reason that he has been better and is young enuff to be that better player again.
an i wud return sars to his #3 position. let darren take it away again by stats! I think darren needs a bit of shelter at this time

But how long can you give Sars to get his act together? imo players must be judged on their performances NOW, that's why i'm not calling for Chanders to get dropped at this moment because he battled hard in the first Test, Sars on the other hand failed IN BOTH, and are you suggesting that we drop Darren Bravo? if so you mussa mad!!mapoui wrote:there is a dimension here u not getting into AFRO. Maybe Simmons can stay but is he comfortable in the middle order? i heard him say he loves to open the batting so that might be a problem, i can't wait to see a full strength batting order play for WI now, it's the only way we can beat India.

yu with Sars is the alternatives..as i said we will never get from sknash what Sars gave us as a career.
sars is 30-31...sknash is already 33. what wud you prefer to do if yu must consider the 2 or them on this current basis?
I going with sars on the premise that the potential reaward is greater.
in comparing sars and Edwards I feeel the same way..dat edwards will never amount to what Sars has given and may yet give.
in Edwards case I am holign on only to the hope of what Haynes might be able to do with hm soon enuff. its like what walcott did in guyana to give us Kanhai, butcher, solomon etc. as only the best of a line of batsmen he transformed.
I am hoping haynes is of the same quality as a batting coach! so if haynes tansforms Edwards we may have soemthng. a 41 average is something to build on.
and why wud you even get the slightest possibiity of an idea dat I am suggesting droppng lil B?
yu dont know me yet do you?
I wud merely drop lil B down to #4, re-emphasies Sars at #3 to try to do 2 things...protect lil B a bit, and to give sars back his responsibnility which may help shake him out of whatever it is thats bugging him

agree always thought this should have been the order

I already said Nash should be dropped!!..but Sars never did any better than him and i'm simply sick of waiting on these "seniors" to perform, we can't wait forever!!mapoui wrote:yu with Sars is the alternatives..as i said we will never get from sknash what Sars gave us as a career.

The Darren Bravo situation is interesting, at times i've thought he might be better off at four too because time and time again he's pretty much had to open the batting but that's what he's used to now and he's battling hard in that position, a change now might work out or it could confuse the yute, is there any point risking it?.

afro-joke,
what happened to kraigg who u have been calling as next great star,i said he must play few more seasons before getting international chance but u said he is ready and he will become great.we have now seen what had happened to him and he must have lost his confidence, now you dont want kraigg in your team.lol
coming to darren bravo he is very bad at spin and while playing left arm fast bowlers,he must improve on his weaknesses, all called him as next lara i will be happy if he even become half of lara.
bishoo must use lot of variations else he will have big trouble against indian batsmen, they are soooo good at playing the spin bowling, almost best in the world.

I dont see Darren as dat fragile. I see some batting weaknesses that migh best be neutralised by dropping him down a bit.The Darren Bravo situation is interesting, at times i've thought he might be better off at four too because time and time again he's pretty much had to open the batting but that's what he's used to now and he's battling hard in that position, a change now might work out or it could confuse the yute, is there any point risking it?.AFRO
Sars sooprised me by the way he was destabilised by Gibbos atttidue towards him. I was shocked at the man who showed his bat to dat Oz paceman..wat was his name?
yet I see that there is risk and reward. I see dat giving Sars back him place migh perk him up. I see what he has to offers as worthy of that risk. I see risk with edwards but I dont see a ton or 2 anytime soon from that middle yute at 25-26
now mind yu of deh pik edwards I am open minded. I want the yute to go do well. but I am not even pikin a side because wat I am fed up with is westindies cricket as produced by the wicb.
I am enjoying the talk about the players but I aint pikin' no side
