The WICB has a history of discarding their aged stars----the great Lara was the last star to be forced out of WI cricket----now Gayle and Shiv seem to be on their way out.

If Shiv has, indeed, been discarded, then he would have ended his test career with a 49.06 test average----not bad!

It would have been nice if Shiv could have ended his test career with a 50+ test average----oh well, he fell short.

Following communications between WICB Management and Chanderpaul over the past weeks the WICB Management and Team Management will meet with Shivnarine Chanderpaul prior to the Test. The WICB Management and Team Management will outline to Chanderpaul the WICB’s expectations of him in his future participation in the West Indies team as a player.

Well, Shiv did condemn and criticize management in his line and length radio interview----most likely the Indian series will be his last if he is lucky to be selected.

The way I see it, if Shiv has an average series with the bat and is unable to advance his test average to 50+ then he ought to retire---if he doesn't retire he will be dropped.

the wicb must be about creating an infrastructure that produces once again top class westindian cricketers. selection must be based on merit and no matter who is worthy must be selected first. when you do that you ensure only high quality comes forwrd and are oriented to the westindies and give their all in representaion of the region.

dat is the structure that will always ensure that players of african descent will get selected once they are the best..regardless. and the structure yu put in place to produce cricketers will keep bring players of affican descent forward among the mix of plyers seeking to represent the region
