I am saying that Dravid wud never have got himself out in any circumstance at all, the way lil Bravo got out this time. Dravid did not do that as a young batsman and most certainly will not do it now. you had to get him out. he wud not get himself out.

Richie Richardson failed miserably in english conditions. he could do nothing at all with spin, his weakness against test spin palpable. by the middle of his career Richardson had mastered both.

Yes he had weak points and if he was around today you'd be running him down like you're running down Darren now!! , but what did Richie do? HE LEARNED FROM HIS MISTAKES, and that's exactly what i expect Darren to do, his problem isn't really a technical issue, it's a matter of concentration and with each game he plays i'm sure that will improve,

Expecting Darren to be batting like Chanders right now is simply unrealistic imo, quite frankly even at the level he's at now we're lucky to have him because like i said before apart from Barath there is not many 22 year old batsmen in world cricket that are on his level.

as for dravid.. he had not palyed cricket in some time. he is 38 years old. he was bound to be rusty and the rust showed in his first innings out. den again in is second innigs chance. but look what happend afterward.

Dravid fough all that was against hin and won..age, rust, tirednes, focus ..watever he fought and scored a hundered after he was dropped.

I am a trini and I see the same thing with simmons and pollard..even with big bravo...thowing away their wickets just like dat.

simmons shud have had at least 2 ODI tons from the pile of fifties he scored.

Pollard , going fine... he does it once too often, silly and gives it up.

the last Oz tour big Bravo scores a ton, beautiful batting and yu think he is set to continue in that vein.
next innings he come out and plays a shit at a ball cutting into him, simple in cutter, misses the ball compeltely and gets bowled.

its like he just too his eys of the ball just like dat and get bowled.

since den it has been striaght downhill as a test player for him.

I don't think you are comprehending what i've been saying!!, my point is simple, aged 22 THE BOY IS STILL LEARNING, therefore HE WILL HAVE UPS AND DOWNS, Shiv has all the experience in the world and yet look how he got out in the second innings? that was fecking terrible batting, Darren didn't get out playing a flashy shot he got out BY WALKING ACROSS HIS CREASE, it was a simple error of foot placement, something that can be addressed with no problem,

I still maintain the notion that expecting him to suddenly play like Dravid is unrealistic, he's not a Dravid type of player, and no batsman is gonna suddenly change their style in an innings, one can be more defensive or attacking but if it's not your natural game then sooner or later you're gonna get out, for example you think Chanders can bat flashy like Samuels? of course not, Darren is just begining to find his own way at International level and i'm sure in time the mistakes will be ironed out, he's hit 80s in both Tests and ODI so he's getting closer now, once the first ton comes i don't think the yute will look back.

I get your point man. I understand all u say. there is nothing wrong with what you say. I believe however that bravo could be batter at this point and what is reuired is a dat felixible quality dat allows him to use his braions to adjust to the condtions all the time.

why wud yu forget the basics if you buckled down, responding to the conditions which are very unsetteled and inconsistent...

yuh in a sitaution that requires you to refocus on basics to survive! wat you walkign across you wicket for when the ball keeping low at times, bouncing at times?

yuh want to stay on leg or just outside and watch the ball to block it if it going to hit the wicket, leave it or hit it for runs. yuh want to stay there also to keep yuh pads out of the way...to try and avoid LBW from shooters.

wat yuh walking across yuh wicket for..unless yu see the ball on of and yuh want to hit it. but if the ball not on off..from you take yuh guard you block the damm ball?

didnt yu see how Dravd dealt with dat problem. exactly dat way. he almost never batted in a regular guard but was often outside leg stump, blocking balls..high or low when he saw wat the ball was doing. he was determined not to go LBW from one keeping low
and as far as shive is concerned I criticised his out already. he shud have been in position to middle dat ball. he did not move when he saw where the ball was. he stayed planted and played away from his body and dat was dat
