and I will bet any money at all..dat Buttsy and dem will not pick any of the young keepers before Baugh and ramdin.
not one of them will be selected unless deh display some kind of extraordinary achievements in dung heap which proves dat young or not they can handle the top level.
if baugh cant make it for any reason I wager deh will go back to Ramdin

LOL map your notion is simply a load of misguided nonsense and just smacks of the views of an old man who's lost touch with the game and is LIVING IN THE PAST, the very fact that you have to refer to keepers who were playing before the likes of Darren Bravo, Roach and Barath were even born just personifies your desperation!!,
I NAMED MOST OF THE TOP KEEPERS IN THE WORLD TODAY and they all made their debut aged 23 or under, i know you want to ignore that because it doesn't suit with your argument BUT THE FACTS DON'T LIE, more and more keepers are making their debuts early,

you say that the WI selectors won't pick a young keeper but what happened at the world cup recently? didn't DEVON THOMAS play when Baugh got injured? and how old is he? HE'S 21 YEARS OLD!!, so that's another claim from you that i've totally DEBUNKED!!and I will bet any money at all..dat Buttsy and dem will not pick any of the young keepers before Baugh and ramdin.

man these things are simplicities, yet it gives me the chance to correct myself.
it made no sense at all to go to devon thomas for the WC. and it proved out on the field!
I dont think even buttsy in his right mind wud have selected thomas but wud have gone back to ramdin in the interim.
but this is a dotty wicb and the dotties come first. hence thomas as replacement.

again my statement..in the history of test cricket the keepers who have stuck and become successful, who kept their places in their teams at the top... for the very greatest majority of them, deh began 25+
wat that established is a rule of guidance and analysis for keepers that I have argued...dat westindies never had to deal with a sitatution before dat I know of. when all the keeping options were under 25..indeed under 23...and we have suffered for it..dat Ramdin was unlucky dat he started so young, did not have a chance to mature and come in later when in all probability he wud have stuck for a long time.
were it baugh who got the nod Ramdin wud be ready now, prolly displace baugh and keep th job for some time.
westindies had no choice but to choose between Baugh first and Ramdin ultimately. Baugh was there first and why did he not play well early. ramdin was even younger and like Deryck Murray before had a dream first season only to decline.
baugh and ramdin are full of ability...why did they not stick? why for the first time in wat 6-8 years baugh is finally looking half decent?
wat is wrong with any of dat given dat the stats all the way through corroborate all I say?
I can easily go through the stats and list dem all and their ages when deh started. but dat is a lot of work and time I dont have.
this is the last. i will say on this subject at this . select whoever you wish, believe watever you want. its your life

in the current scheme Baugh has won out over Ramdin. luck was on his side and ramdin played 42 tests and regressed while baugh matured. he is incumbent now and he shud be there hopefully for the next 3 years at least while the kids grow up.
after 42 tests it is going to be very hard for ramdin to get back in as long as baugh stays healthy. I am afraid all things being equall ramdin is toast.
sorry bally! I know yu like the guy but his situation isnt really good

But this is what you're failing to comprehend, THE STATS DON'T COMPLY WITH YOUR CLAIMS, like i already said Dhoni made his debut aged 23 for India, Mark Boucher made his debut aged 20 for South Africa, Jayawardene made his debut aged 20 for Sri Lanka, McCullum made his debut aged 22 for NZ, AND ALL OF THEM ARE THE BEST KEEPERS IN THE GAME TODAY,mapoui wrote: wat is wrong with any of dat given dat the stats all the way through corroborate all I say?

What has let our keepers down is their BATTING, that's all, Thomas, Ramdin and Baugh all have good glovework, so my argument is when we see a yute like Corbin scoring over 500 runs in the four day season why shouldn't he come under consideration? the boy clearly knows what he's doing at the crease, refusing to give him a chance despite his good form just because he's young would simply be nonsensical and destructive to WI cricket imo.

Thomas was showing good form for the HPC and was already around the senior squad, so it was only logical to give him a chance, his glovework was very good indeed but like Ramdin he was useless with the bat, that's why i've got high hopes for the new crop coming through because they aren't scared to use their head and stay at the crease for long spells.mapoui wrote:man these things are simplicities, yet it gives me the chance to correct myself.

I admit I am not up to dste on the recnt keepers as I used to be.
this is soemthng new...young keepers sticking around.
its like Dravid and the Indian batsmen..late thirties playing like they are still 30 or so...soemthng new in the game as yu noted...
if they stick around, and others do the same in times to come then new trends wud be etatablished

In this series, Baugh has kept wicket better than Dhoni, and has batted better than Dhoni....
