Barath= 21
Brathwaite?
Edwards= 26
Darren Bravo= 22
Hughes?
Corbin (wk)?
Russell= 23
Rampaul= 26
Roach= 22
Bishoo= 25
I've filled in the gaps with a few players i believe will be coming through for WI in the near future, but looking at that list gives me hope for the future, there's so many other youngsters who could turn out to be top class too like Amir Khan, Yannic Cariah, Shannon Gabriel, Keddy Lesporis, Jason Holder, Sheldon Cotterrell etc so even though things aren't looking too bright right now i still believe we'll rise up in the next three to four years.

Listen up Afro!
CHRIS GAYLE TWEETED TODAY THAT THE TIGER WILL BE PLAING ANOTHER 5 YEARS FOR THE WEST INDIES!

So put the Tiger in your list above.

RE: THE YOUNG BATSMEN
* Barath had a horrible series against India--he averaged only 25.00.
* LilBravo looks talented---but after averaging 68.67 in his debut series against SL---he averaged 26.65 vs Pakistan and 34.17 against India.
* Edwards had an excellent debut---well deserved hundred---his first class average of 41+ indicated to me he could bat.
RE: THE BOWLERS
Very encouraging news here---Fidel, Rampaul, Bishoo---they have all impressed recently---and there are a few talented bowlers in the cupboard--Roach, Russell etc

"Another five years"?
di man will be lucky to still be playing in another five months to rhatid let alone "five years"
, Shiv is 36 years old man, he was great today but that knock was long over-due and everything must come to an end someday, imo we can't afford to let the likes of Chesney Hughes sit on the sidelines forever while Shiv pads his record, as it won't help his development at all.
Also there's plenty more bowlers in reserve too like!!..
Shannon Gabriel
Kevin Mclean
Nelon Pascal
Carlos Brathwaite
Sheldon Cotterrell
I expect Gabriel to make his debut very soon because he just seems to have that "X factor" about him,
And lets remember JEROME TAYLOR IS STILL ONLY 26 ASWELL!!.

I have some depressing news for you.
Bishop asked Shiv how his legs were standing up. He said he has MILES left on his legs.
THE TIGER PLANS TO KEEP PLAYING A FEW YEARS MORE.

By the way afro, check out Shiv's batting average in 2011 and in the past 12 months:
You see those averages afro ?50.66...Shiv's average in 2011(4 tests)
53.69...Shiv's average the past 12 months(10 tests)
DO YOU STILL WANT TO DROP THE TIGER ?
HERE ARE SHIV'S AVERAGE IN HIS LAST 4 TEST SERIES:
75.00....Shiv vs South Africa
31.33....Shiv vs Sr Lanka
63.00....Shiv versus Pakistan
48.20....Shiv vs India
And you want the Tiger to make way for the youngsters Afro ? You must be insane.

Listen up afro!
SHIV IS STILL THE BEST BATSMAN IN THE WEST INDIES!
All those names you are tossing about----the youngsters----I wish them all well.
BUT THIS MAN WILL BE AROUND TO TORTURE YOU A FEW MORE YEARS:

Black Prince how many 50s did he get in the series against Sri-lanka and Pakistan?
ONE, furthermore he only played one Test against Pakistan so those stats are kind of distorted, anyway of course i'm not calling for him to be dropped anytime soon BUT this whole notion that he can "carry on for five more years" is NONSENSE imo, he's got one or two more years left at most imo, and that's only if his form holds up, if he fails like Nash and Sars he'll be dropped quicker than you can eat a patti!!

Well, Shiv will be 37 years old in August---I believe it is highly unlikely he will play another 5 years.AFRO wrote:Black Prince how many 50s did he get in the series against Sri-lanka and Pakistan?ONE, furthermore he only played one Test against Pakistan so those stats are kind of distorted, anyway of course i'm not calling for him to be dropped anytime soon BUT this whole notion that he can "carry on for five more years" is NONSENSE imo, he's got one or two more years left at most imo, and that's only if his form holds up, if he fails like Nash and Sars he'll be dropped quicker than you can eat a patti!!

Shiv's compatriot Clive Lloyd played until he was 40yrs and 4 months-----if Shiv emulates Lloyd in terms of longevity----he could very well play another 3 years.
In my estimation Shiv will play until he gets to 10,000 runs in tests.
Right now Shiv is at 9367---he needs another 633 runs for 10K
Once Shiv gets to 10K---if his form is still good----then he may choose to continue playing.
THE FACT IS SHIV AT AGE 37 IS STILL THE BEST BATSMAN IN THE WEST INDIES.

In that test against Pakistan in Guyana, Shiv did not score a fifty---his scores were 27 and 36*AFRO wrote:Black Prince how many 50s did he get in the series against Sri-lanka and Pakistan?ONE, furthermore he only played one Test against Pakistan so those stats are kind of distorted...
But when he scored that 36 not out----he had a 48 run 10th wicket PARTNERSHIP with Bishoo----it was that partnership that played a pivotal role in the WI winning the test match.
Listen up afro---if the youngsters in the Caribbean today can be half as determined and dedicated as Shiv West Indies cricket will be in good shape going forward.
LilBravo has scored 6 fifties in his first 8 tests---but his overall average has dipped below 40---its 39.85.
Barath averages 26.92 after 7 tests
SHIV SHOULD BE APPOINTED AS ASSISTANT COACH----even while he is playing----the youngsters can learn a lot from the TIGER.

no coach appointment. no coaches at all.
mentoring sure, having influence, being example sure...the senior and postive presence in the team, the pole around which the team is built sure.
by his atatus shive will be all dat to the team. but his primary role in the team is still to pile up the runs. and he looks like he still has it, now out from his extended dip in performance
