the selection of sammy cannot be considered on normal criteria of selection...on merit or on having established himself in the side.

I know the westindies, how we think... and as soon as sammy was made windys cappo the fix was in. and I said dat right here in these pages.

I told them sammy wud be the next cappo. I argued that case right up to his appointment with complete confidence. that shud be in the archieves somewhere here.

so when you talk about sammy the regular and legit critieria of selection do not apply..certainly in the first instance of his selection.

now, such criteria of selection may have some apllication as justification for sammy has taken wickets., and led decently.

and while there were alternatives like gayle and Sarwan when he was first appointed as captain, they do not figure now.

so unless someone like ganga...a figure whose vast experience may be of some value now, if he is used as an opener, in the complete abscene of experienc at the top of the order, is recalled..sammy literally has no opposition as captain

I never said rampaul did not play those series. but in them he struggled mightily and played only due to to injuriry to others... esepcially Taylor.

in Oz rapual and and dat guy from Antigua both cud not cross 125 mph in pace. I watched dat series wholly.

this seas is the first time rampaul has been fully fit and for the first time he has consistenly appraoched 90 mph. and for the first time his success assures his selection first..not in case, in his own right...no in place of imjured others.
Well actually Rampaul started the first Test in Aus ALONGSIDE TAYLOR AND ROACH, so his selection wasn't just about "injuries" 8-) , i remember he also scored an impressive 40 odd not out too which was the first time he really displayed his batting potential on the big stage, anyway my point is he's been around the team long enough to lead them and he's at a good age (26) , even if it was a one series thing to Test the waters i would do it, England let Alistair Cook captain the England team in Bang so there's no reason why we can't do the same with Rampaul.

Excuse me do you know what "notion" means? IT MEANS IT'S JUST YOUR OPINION, not a FACT,

my my way of judging communication everyone is free to use language, words in watever way deh believe wud facilitate meaning and successfully complete the comminucation transaction.

as long as ones meaning is communicated we have successful communication. the laws of language and and definition of words as to their meaning are basicaly guidelines.

languave lives and breathes with us. we made language for that purpose..to facilitate communication as an update on mime and dance to transfer meaning..or means of communication..., so that the group, the family cud survive better.

we did not come into the world and meet language but created it to help facilitate our survival. so language changes and grows with human evolution and development, new words and interconnections all the time to take into fact new physical developments and extension of knowledge....

so now dat yu tell me wat your meaning of 'notion' is I can understand you. but if I went by the strict definition of notion I wud not know wat you meant.

I can see now that in your mind an opinion can also be notional. mmm, interesting!

if yu want to split hairs to try prove points dat wont work is up to yu

but this is the first season, in his own right, earned, on ability and results that rampaul is first choice and assured of selection in the test side.

not in consideration of others, process of elimination and all dat but first, established and done. the process of elimnation now includes others..not him

To me this is the perfect opportunity to try a few different things, obviously we can't take Bang lightly as they'll be looking to spring an upset here, especially with them being at home, plus they'll want revenge after what we did to them at the World cup,

Anyway for me these guys should play

Barath
Brathwaite (good experience for the yute)
Edwards
Darren
Chanders
Samuels
Baugh-Dowrich-Corbin (wk)
Russell (lets try him out in the allrounder role)
Rampaul
Edwards-Roach-Gabriel
Bishoo

Baugh has been doing ok but imo his scores have still been average, i'd wait and see how Dowrich and Corbin do for the A-team and if one of them impresses i'd give them a chance, if not then keep Baugh in place,

Then we have the pacers, Edwards done well against India but i'm keen to see if Roach can rediscover his form, because imo when he's on fire he's better than Edwards and less wasteful, i also think Gabriel should be taken with the squad to get some experience, and Kantasingh or Permaul should be taken as a second spin option,

Lastly i'd play Russell in Sammy's position, it would be great to see how much runs he could add to our scores instead of seeing Sammy fail time and time again with the bat, with this in mind i'd give the captaincy to Rampaul, for me he's shown he has the ability to lead, whether by taking wickets at vital moments or hanging on with the tail he's proved that he's a fighter.
Afro ...What happened to "kiss the badge" Roach? Roach is a scab and that is the only reason why he mek the WI team.

yeah but how long will he be kept out...and not because of form but because of Sammy??

What about Russell and big Bravo??

you have Rampaul, Edwards already set in the team (so far). What happens when Roach, Russell and Bravo all start performing and gain form?
