LinkFLETCHER IMPRESSED WITH WI UNDER GIBSON

Impressed with the performance of the West Indies against India in the just-concluded Test series, India's coach Duncan Fletcher said the Caribbean side under its new coach Ottis Gibson has shown significant improvement.
"Under Ottis Gibson, the team is improving all the time. I have been with England here, I have seen them in England, but the way they put it together here, they are moving up," Fletcher told Caribbean Media Corporation.
"If that improvement continues, I wouldn't like to be part of another touring side and play them," he added.
"They bowled very well. Their batters slowly got better," he said. The 62-year-old coach also said that that the West Indies are slowly but steadily becoming a professional unit. "It's not only on the field, the way they move off the field, their warm-ups, I take note of it. They looked a very professional unit," he said.
I think it's very encouraging to hear that from a coach of Fletcher's experience and stature, of course we're a long way from the heights we hit in the 80s but Rome wasn't built in a day, clearly Gibbo is trying to build professional set-up from which our players can feel confident and prosper, for too long we had that laid back approach which only took us backwards, now Gibbo has installed many of the philosophies that he learned from his time in the England set-up and i can see them bearing fruit in the years to come.
