I really don't see the point in dragging this on anymore.
Gayle has made his feelings clear and so have the Board, who we agree or disagree with is irrelevant at this point, the bottom line is that the Board have mistreated and have been unreasonable when it comes to negotiating with some of the (senior) players needs and what is required.
Gayle has been dismissive and has made comments towards the Board and Coach, rightly or wrongly to the point of no return. So what we have are both parties expecting the other to back down and apologise for their actions and what's been said, but no one is willing to do so.
Whether we like it or not, the reality is that the Board are here to stay for the time being. Gayle will move-on, make his millions and establish his new fanbase in India (IPL). The overall result will be the interest in West Indies cricket will continue to suffer. But as a loyal fan, disaapointment is nothing new to me, so i'm certainly not going to be one of those people who wish the current Team and Coach any negative vibes, because the Politics within the Camp, is not the way i want it to be.
The biggest problem with Cricket in the Caribbean is the Board, until those guys are replaced with people that have a genuine interest for what's best for West Indies Cricket, there will be more heartache. So i will continue to support the team regardless, but i'm certainly not holding my breath for any major changes, until it starts from the very top, beginning with Ernest Hiliare.

Anyone here think that the BCCI may have a hand in trying to get this resolved cause economically, it will help if Gayle tours with the WI next month...Don't forget that CG is currently marketable big time in India....
I still say no withdrawal of anything from CG especially if he told the TRUTH and as a fan I believe him....
If man start withdrawing the truth, then whats the purpose of our existence...

That gready skunt Gayle don't care about WI, all him care about is the IPL dollars!!.. so he can f#ck off!!..we don't need him to come back, the WICb and GiBBO were SPOT ON when they questioned the "seniors", them skunts embarrassed us at the world cup and were rightly quesioned over their poor performances, fake fans who only care about individual players AND NOT THE TEAM can cry dem eyes out about the WICb if dem want, BUT THEY AIN'T GOING ANYWHERE FOR NOW!!.. so whether Gayle takes back his statement or not it really doesn't effect them in the slightest

Mixed feelings on this, for the most part, i think that Gayle has his own agenda and all this business about having no choice and being forced into playing IPL Cricket because of the Politics, smells a little suspicious to me. I would respect him more if he was honest enough to say that he's fed-up with the Political nonsense and now he's looking after number one and if that makes him a mercenery, then so be it. But my cynical side suggests that he's playing the martyr, so he has the sympathy of the public and therefore feels justified by his actions and have the best of both worlds, purely on his terms.AFRO wrote:That gready skunt Gayle don't care about WI, all him care about is the IPL dollars!!.. so he can f#ck off!!..we don't need him to come back, the WICb and GiBBO were SPOT ON when they questioned the "seniors", them skunts embarrassed us at the world cup and were rightly quesioned over their poor performances, fake fans who only care about individual players AND NOT THE TEAM can cry dem eyes out about the WICb if dem want, BUT THEY AIN'T GOING ANYWHERE FOR NOW!!.. so whether Gayle takes back his statement or not it really doesn't effect them in the slightest.
I remember back in 2004 when the Windies got routed out for 47 at Sabina Park, after the match i saw Gayle and Sarwan in the stands having a drink and celebrating with some of the English players. I'm all for sportsmanlike and congratulating the opposition, but a shake of hands and going about your business is all they're going to get. I remembered at that point as to how much Gayle and Sarwan really cared about the team, can't argue with their ability and what they've achieved, but that did annoy me at the time.
On the other side of the coin, in regard to some of Gayle's comments, i do question on how the Board have targeted the Senior players. Some of them might've been lazy and showed the lack of commitment in the work-ethic that the Coach was asking of them, but at the same time the claim that they destroyed Sarwan's confidence, as well as Nash seeming to have psychologically broken down and Chanderpaul claiming he was badly treated also, that all can't be a coincidence and for me the Board has alot to answer for as well.
As i've said many times before i certainly don't trust the Board and when they're gone the sooner the better.
