Was Gibbo a spinner? the fact is Bishy is playing at the heighest level now, he shouldn't need anyone to "teach" him, how hard is it to bowl a few googleys every now and then? .

and who is Gibbo supposedly coaching then? What is his purpose, Hiliare's henchman?

Bishoo was a big let down today i'm afraid!!..still refuses to mix it up and bowl googleys!!.. everytime he bowls to left-handers the commentators ask "why doesn't he bowl a googley?!!".. i'm getting fed up with it now, i don't remember Devendra being so one dimensional when he was younger and playing for Guyana!! .

Isn't that the story of so many young cricketers who get into the WI side? They show promise, start their Test career, with promise, and then go thru a rut, and some of them never get out of that rut....Dwayne Smith, Adrian Barath, Dev Bishoo, etc. If Darren Bravo's not careful, he and Kirk Edwards could end up in the same boat.

The problem comes down to video coverage. All teams are able to analyse the videos, and pick up the weaknesses of players they hadn't seen before. However, our guys just don't seem able to adapt to this analysis, and improve their games accordingly. So, they fall by the wayside....

He's not just a "coach", he's a man who is bringing a PROFOSSIONAL ENVIRONMENT to West Indian cricket, using the same philosophies he learned from THE CURRENT NUMBER ONE TEST TEAM, and if you want to see his influence on the pitch just look at the FITNESS of the whole team and the performances of Rampaul, Edwards, Russell and even Roach on occasions!! .

I think it's rather harsh to write Barath off at this early stage, he's only played seven test matches and has a ton and two 50s to his name, in the three series he's taken part in he's got a 50 or higher in an innings so he's not that bad, obviously he's got much to learn but what other young batsman out there hasn't? Kane Williams got a ton on debut for NZ in India but failed in the next series against Pak, and we all saw how crap Kohli was in the tests against us,

Darren is clearly still learning but in the main he's averaged a 50 every two innings which is very encouraging at this stage imo, i wouldn't have an issue with Bishy if he actually tried to mix it up, but he's not he's just doing the bread and butter stuff, at first it worked because batsmen wasn't used to him but at the heighest level batsmen will figure you out very quickly, that's why i'm so excited about Narine but he can bowl BOTH LEGGY AND OFF-BREAK, so he can surprise a batsman and go both ways, he's also got the doosra, carom ball, slider, top spinners etc, my spies tell me he had at least four plumb LBW decisions not given in the one day game the other day, and that on top of having two easy chances dropped off his bowling , hopefully the luck will go his way today.
