Russell playing suggests that they want to see him in more four day cricket before he gets another Test chance which is good i think,
you sure? how can Russell play in the senior team when Scammy is there? :(

Scammy rightful place is in the A team!
We can only pray that Sammy's run is coming to an end!! , i actually think with Russell's batting ability and pace he would be a very decent replacement for Sammy.

Keep dreaming Mike!!.. HE'S GOING TO INDIA, the selectors were at the Leeward's and Jamaica game where he got a 6 and 5fer respectively, so needless to say HIM TICKETS ALREADY BOOKED!! .

I also guess Sunil Narine going to India ... ;)

Kantasingh, Santokie WOW!!! 8-)
Look like mi prayers might come true to rhatid!! ,

Watch Sunil mesmerize those skunts like Mendis did!! .
Personally, I don't expect the Test side to India to change much from the current Test squad, and I don't think the ODI squad to India will change much from the ODI squad that played against Bangladesh....

Going by past experience, if the WI selectors are going to bring in anyone new, it will be from the players who will be playing against the Bangladesh A side. Narine, Kantasingh, Holder, lesporis and Hughes can only really hope that when those players are called away for the WI A team, that they will be in contention for a place against the Bangla A side.

Afro, don't get me wrong - I like Narine. But I don't think the WI selectors are going to let him jump over the A team....

I just checked the two schedules....

The Bangladesh A series, including 'Tests', 20/20s and one-dayers, will be completed by Nov 27. The first ODI against India doesn't start until Nov 29.

It seems to me that the WI selectors are using this series against Bangladesh A to try and keep some of their ODI players match-fit....

MATHURIN, NKRUMA BONNER AND DERWIN CHRISTIAN have never played a single match for the A-team, and yet magically they turned up on the pitch when we beat England the other day?!!..and CARLOS BRATHWAITE hasn't played an A-game either, so your notion doesn't hold weight Mike!! ,

And lastly sometimes there's just special cases that just cannot be ignored, we're not just raving about the man because of what he's done in this One day competition, this form is simply a CONTINUATION of his form from the champions league where he dazzled INTERNATIONAL CLASS BATSMEN like Shane Watson, Dhoni, Vijay and Raina amoungst others, the champions league is a much tougher examination than the A-team games imo and he passed with flying colours,

If he wasn't going to India he'd be in that A-team without a doubt, the selectors aren't that stupid, and only a mad man wouldn't take advantage of this opportunity, we may just have a sensation on our hands, whats the point in wrapping him up in cotten whool? especially as he's already used to the Indian tracks now? it wouldn't make sense.

As I said before, Afro, that 12-man squad is just for the first 'Test'....

Wait and see what squad is announced for the one-dayers against Bangladesh A, and if Narine and the others are in that squad, then they will probably be on the flight to India for the ODIs, assuming they do well against Bangladesh A, of course.

And why wouldn't Narine take his place in the First Test? IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE, he's clearly the best spinner in the region so i'd imagine they'd want to look at him as much as possible, so i can only come to one conclusion, and that is he's heading to India and will replace Shillingford, whether he plays the first test or not remains to be seen, but he'll be with the squad imo.

And LOL at you ducking the part where i debunked your notion that he won't jump over the A-team!! .

I hope you are right. However, I think you are giving the folks in charge too much credit
the selectors aren't that stupid
how many stupid things have you seen them do in recent times?!

How many FC matches has Narine played? Just two matches over four days!

Let's bookmark this page, and re-visit it when the first Test starts....
