Game on? If SL bat out the day, they can hang on for the draw. An SL win is not in the reckoning. UAE is a home away from home for Pakistan, and they're quite used to the conditions there....AFRO wrote:Erm playing a game there and GETTING USED TO THE CONDITIONS are two different things Mike!!.. i would have thought an old man like you would know that!!mikesiva wrote: They've played at UAE before this...It's not the first time that Pakistan haven't been able to play at home.
By the way, if Pakistan win this series 2-0, they will go into the Top Five long before we do!

Sri Lanka will then drop to number six, and we can try to set our sights on them....
But before you take out your rose-tinted glasses, we only made SL follow on in one match. The other one was heavily rained out, and in the third, you could almost say the rain came to OUR rescue., furthermore the game isn't looking so "rosey" for Pak now is it?
if SL bat out most of tomorrow then it really will be game on!!.
Lastly yes i know we made them follow on once!!.. are you suggesting that's not an achievement in it's self?IT WAS THE FIRST TIME WE'D DONE THAT IN 15 YEARS.. so drink that up and get over it!!
.
THe first Pakistan Tests at Sharjah were in 2002, four of them. They played a Test in Dubai in 2010, and one Test in Abu Dhabi before this series.
But Pakistan have played quite a few ODIs there too....
Between 2009-2010, Pakistan played five ODIs in Dubai, several more at Abu Dhabi between 2006-2010, while between 1984-2010 Pakistan played a mammoth 106 ODIs!
How about 20/20 internationals?
Between 2009-2010, Pakistan played five 20/20s in Dubai, and some more at Abu Dhabi.
So, Tests, ODIs, and 20/20s combined, Pakistan have played a total of more than 130 international matches in UAE, enough to feel comfortable enough to play well there. Mark my words, Pakistan won't be losing a series there any time soon....
