Mushfiqur Rahim, the Bangladesh captain, has said his team had gifted away the Mirpur Test with some irresponsible batting on the final day. Bangladesh, he said, have to work on their temperament. West Indies completed a 229-run win to take the Test and series on Wednesday, after Bangladesh failed to bat out the fifth day on a relatively easy track.

"They [West Indies] hardly got us out, we gave away the wickets," Mushfiqur said. "[Shivnarine] Chanderpaul told us at the end of the game that 'At no stage did we think we got you out. Don't do this [bat recklessly] in the future.'" link

Looks like Shiv working on a coaching gig ... :)

Kind of irrelevant really.

We all know that the key to success and failure in test cricket is not always about talent. Of course that comes into it and if a player excels in a particular department is a great advantage to have in a team, but if you haven't got the temperament, discipline or patience to take the initative during a crucial time of a session, that could make all the difference between winning, saving or losing a match. How many times have we see batting teams self-destruct through pressure and not neccesarily because of great bowling?

Chanderpaul is giving Mushfiqur sound advice and with the concentrating skills that Chanders has, the Bangla-boys should take it into account, when they find themselves in that scenario on a good batting pitch.

spot on... Shiv just encouraging them after the win. It's nice to see seniors helping out youngsters though.
