The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) will have to pay the legal costs incurred by the West Indies Players Association (WIPA) in a matter brought before the courts, which the regional cricket body was seeking an extension on the time to respond to a WIPA lawsuit. The local courts on Wednesday dismissed a claim by the WICB asking for an extension to reply to charges levelled by WIPA that they had no rights to refuse regional players unconditional ‘no objection certificates’.
