linkTrinidad and Tobago are likely to miss all-rounders Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard for next January's Caribbean Twenty20 Championship.
Both players are expected to head Down Under for Australia's lucrative Big Bash T20 series and could be out of the selection frame for the January 9-24 competition, scheduled for Antigua and Barbados.
Bravo and Pollard, who both recently rejected West Indies Cricket Board retainer contracts in favour of freelance status, have been given no objection certificates (NOCs) to represent Victoria and South Australia, respectively.
Cricket Australia (CA) requires NOCs from every overseas player in the Big Bash, as a means of preventing players signing with Australian states against their home board's wishes.
The Big Bash tournament, which involves all six Australian states, runs from December 30 to February 5.
If Pollard and Bravo play in the Big Bash, they will rule themselves out for West Indies in the T20 format for the rest of the year as the WICB has stipulated that players must represent their territory in order to be eligible for selection to the West Indies team in that format.
The duo, however, will be available for the upcoming 50 overs World Cup in Asia from February because they participated in the WICB One-Day Championship last month.
Former West Indies captain Chris Gayle has also received his No Objection Certificate to play in the Big Bash, where he will represent Western Australia.

It will open up spots for younger players I hope , not the ones in the twilight of their careers.
I would revamp that whole team .The average age should be about 22 years old .

What about this?
So Bravo and Pollard will NOT play T20 for WI in 2011?If Pollard and Bravo play in the Big Bash, they will rule themselves out for West Indies in the T20 format for the rest of the year as the WICB has stipulated that players must represent their territory in order to be eligible for selection to the West Indies team in that format.
