"It was a fantastic effort. Dilshan has got that little magic touch and when he comes on to bowl he just manages to do something," said Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara. "He got two wickets at a crucial stage and we now have the opportunity to come back and put the pressure on. There's quite a lot of time left in this match and if we bowl well in the first session tomorrow we can set it up. We wanted a wicket with the new ball and the pacemen...

when barath gt out I went to bed. I knew exactly what would happen on this apparently very fair pitch...westindies would bat to class level and be beaten.
only the rain can save us now that Lanka is back on an even keel playing up to their level. they let down first match and westindies hardly let up. and even though westindies were very steady indeed, Lanka saved the game easily in the end.
on this pitch its a different matter altogether. you have to be able to bat well and properly to to score heavily n this wicket with those bowlers, playing at home. Sangy demonstrated the class necessary even against westindian bowling which has been very good relative to their experience so far.
I am really happy about lil Bravo. I could see he had come on, or had arrived and was ready given his last 5-6 scores in the competitive games he had played up to this series. with Barath westindies have 2 batsmen ready now to carry on.
that 80 las' night demonstrated that Bravo can realy bat. skilfull, full of ability, capable of dealing with any conditions he has to deal with.
las' night also demonstrated my case against sknash. sknash is a mediocrity who in the face of good bowling on a decent result-oriented pitch can do very little. he made plenty with that 29. he will make even less second innings.
and watch the idiot Baugh get his ass out early tomorrow. they shud have sent Benn ahead of him. we will get more fight out of Benn than out of 'bow'
I see nuttn wrong with this result for the westindies. this is par for the course relative to the class of the sides involved, playing at their best on a decent pitch! westindies have a few facts to be happy about. the bowling is decent, indeed very encouraging at this stage of the development of the players involved.
the emergence of and addition to the team of one real class batsman, young and powerful, and a fast bowler of class and fitness to partner Roach, and this westindies tream will rise in the world quickly. I believe Bravo is that guy but we have to a bit a bit on him
the return of the 'real' Sarwan in place of sknash would help in the interim. but westindies would want someone of the class of Lara, Viv, even Richardson to do that trick. lil Braithwaite from Bim another B looks promising.
Russel ,for his pace and his battting aility would be perfect. but I fear as a bowler Russell does not naturaly have the 'killer' and creative bowling flair of normal westindian pace, and would have to be worked with assiduously to develop viability at the to levels as a bowler. Russel has however vast skills that on the face of it, would make any commitment to his development by the wicb worthwhile.
Young pascal also has good pace and warants a look. Sammy would be in the way of that however. the Sammy experiment would have to end for the then available opportuity to balance the side to work out in a Pascal selection...or indeed the selection of any other worthy prospect to partner Roach

if the fifth day pitch is a now a minefield westindies could still be in trouble. Bow is less to count on as a batsman than Ramdin was, so he shud be swept away first thing this morning.
Benn is a fighter and may give bib Bravo some support...that is if Big Bravo is in the mood to stand up. he too can easily crap down the place as he has more than once.
if this westindies tail goes as easily as in the first test we may be looking at the second westindians innings begining before lunch and a westindian dog-fight to save the game by the close of play!
