Rowe was a superb batsman, more ability naturally prolly than anyone who evere lived. he did not jess used to bat yu know, but he could whistle too. and when he started to whiste at the crease dat was it. yu knew he was in groove and your day of chasing leather was set.

dat man used to speak to heaven and create what he saw there at the crease. he did not make effort, he flowed. Rowe was like another jamaican, Devon White, the Blue jays centre fielder on their world championhsip teams of baseball.

once it was heard of people asking of Devon White, well how does he move then, for his movement was flawlessly fluid, it did not look as if he ever did anthing but just glide, so quick, he was there but you never saw how.

when Rowe glided everybody stopped and watched, even the fieldsmen and bowlers. you should ask the Bajans! ask POINT! for they saw Rowe...and Hoops too... at his best and they have not stopped talking to this day...the bajans. and Worrell was theirs too!

but Rowe had a problem. he was a personality struck with all manner problems that altogether might be considered big but were seperately niggles.....debilitating but very niggle-ish all the same. its is very hard to play on grass if you have allergies to cut grass...especially in england where in the spring the grass can be lush

I know! I have allergies and life is usually a torment when you have allergies as bad as I do. and Rowe from what I see had allergies as bad as I do. and sugar diabetes is a cause underlying, of allergies, or can be the basis for allergies......

Rowe also had eyesight problems and was injury prone in other ways as well. when Rowe got injured he was out for a series. and it happened all the time.

and when Rowe was asked to sacrifice for the team like bat out of position he did it in the earlies, but I dont know if he did it later.

so Rowe did not have the personality or the character they say, to deal with all that ailed him and still dominate. when he ailed he packed it in! and when he did not get what he wanted he accepted South African golden ducats over the westindian multi-coloureds.

and that was that.

but Rowe when it came to talent was probably more gifted that Richards, more than Kalliecharran and all the rest. he was however not as giftend as these players in all other areas of life. so we have from them much grander profiles at the top than Rowe left behind
