The West Indies Cricket Board announced the appointment of Richie Richardson as Team Manager of the West Indies Cricket Team.

Richardson, a former West Indies captain and legendary batsman, has been a successful businessman engaged in sport tourism ventures in his native Antigua and Barbuda and the United Kingdom, since his retirement from the game in 1996.

Richardson will be interviewed live on ESPN this evening after the first innings of the Canada v Trinidad & Tobago match in the Caribbean Twenty20.

another dottie gift!

is richie a good man for managing the westindies given the perspective he has established of himself, as a sort of to the right-wing of the spectrum, anti-popular figure?

there are other people up there in the dots who seems more apt for the managers job if one of theirs is who they wanted in there!

Yeah Richie seh they offered him the job... I thought Colin Borde from T&T was going to get it. I don't think Richie ever managed the Leewards team.

“Richie would know the importance of have a team that is well moulded going out there to battle. He needs to bring the players together under one belief and work on the mental side of their game.” Khan noted that Richardson was a successful player and he spent most of his career on a winning team. “He knows what it takes to win and this is an advantage.

“I don’t know much about his management skills but I do know that he is approachable and this is so important when it comes to being a successful manager. Khan has since returned to Trinidad and is currently the manager of the T&T cricket team taking part in the regional T20 cricket series

I wish Richie well but I dont think he is the man for that job!
