england have 2 batsmen who can help dem in ODI..Strauss and Pietersen. all the rest are traditional english batsmen, slow, careful, love run singles, uncreative and non-aggressive.

deh have Broad and Swann 2 very useful allround players. Prior useful in tests appears to be unsuited to ODI...and particularly to opening the innings

batsmen like Bell, Collingwood, Morgan and the rest are umabitious batsmen. with hardly an attacking inclination in their bones.

england seems out to me as a competititve factor in the WC

westindies on the other had in search for balance may consider opening the innings with the berk button, Baugh! fuh my money Simmons would have been in there instead of baugh...or dat Grenadian fella..wats his name again?

I wud also have fitted some keeping gloves on Barath. this specialised thing in ODI is useless!

Baugh is useless and this WC shud expose him finally and fully for the low quality he brings to the team. he has a protective role to play anyway, Baugh...doh it wud best be played in tests not ODI

but let him go in first and get watever from him, instead of him clutering up the middle and tail, causing rucn-chases to fail with his usually stupid batting.

by dat we clear the way to do something creative in the middle aftah Gayle...like shive, sars, lil Bravo, Pollard, big Bravo, Russell, Miller, Benn, Roach

Around big Bravo and back to sars there aint to much steady experience. which is a lament for DSmith pick really. Dsmith cyan only fool around with the bat. he cyar help in no other way.

the next Smith with all his experience and ability to bowl excently, could have been in there instead. even a more useful player like Rhinds or Bernard or Imran.

yuh know...coming to think of it Devon Smiths pik is a waste of time. we haveODI openers there aplenty in Gayle, Shive and the keeper, who is best going in first in this format. then there is Barath..and he cyant bowl. so if he is ahead of DSmith why Dsmith which is cleary a most redundant pik.

we now have 4 openers...3 pure batsmen of whom only gayle cyan bowl. and we clearly need some all-roudn experience up in there, down by the tail to aid in run-chases dat DwSmith , it seems from dis angle wud have filled well
