if in the first place he can get into the ODI team over Bravo, Polard, Russell, Ravi, David Bernard, Dwayne Smith etc...to demonstrate that possible ODI edge.

and then again as captain too. he is not as good and experienced as Ganga as a captain. so far he may have a popular edge on Ganga for it may be that Ganga is not so popular with the players at the top...and he Sammy, has just started.

but if winning is the key, the point and purpse of the exercise of running, organising and playing the game, then you take your best shot at all times...which in captain C means Ganga

Sammys' is a wasted selection, a pointless pik, an example of coruption and incompetence and administrative functioning contrary to the purpose for which that administration was constituted.

the wicb is constituted to look after westindian cricket, is charged with responsibility for its well-being and development. the selecton of Sammy as captain is obviously, clearly inconsistent with all and any known critieria of selection for the purpose of playing the game of cricket at the internatinal level..indeed at any level at all, but most conspicuously and nationally deleterious, at the top level.

cross-purpose is what we dealing with here. you are responsible for the weel-being of the westindian game yet you select a sixth player, who cannot make the team before at least 5 players of his type ahead of him, and as a result we have imposed upon ourselves a 10 ton weigth that was not there before and ought not to be there at all.

to include Sammy in the westindies side seriously weakens it in terms of orverall ability and emotional impact on the rest of he team. everyone kows Sammy is far from the best available amd constitues a weak link, that team selection is manipulated to include him. that especially when the team is up against it is most likely to have devastating impact on team morale.

there has to be something of value that Sammy brings to the table to compensate for his lesser abilities. but is it captaincy.... is Sammy so superior intellectually that by leadership skills alone he is worthy of a place in the representative team?

and the impostion of this road-block in westindies path, in its desperate search for respectability again from our precipitous fall from the heights of championship is none other than Dr Julian Hunte, THE ABSOLUTE WORST, MOST STUPID AND INCOMPETENT RUNT OF A CHAIRMAN WHO EVER SAT IN THE WICB CHAIR.

I have no love for any wicb chairman since the days of Allan Rae and Stollmeyer, of Gerry Gomez, the best administrators we have ever had. I thought the very least of people like Peter Short, Pat Rosseau, Wes Hall, Teddy Griffith and Ken Gordon. but none of those men, as chair of the wicb have sunk as low as Julian Hunte, had projected such an air of imbecility, and have been so ridiculous corrupt in ofice as to make dissapear any difference at all bweteen that air of, and actual mental incapacity.

Julian Huntes wicb is openly, actively acting contrary to the interest of westindies cricket, doing things like the appointment of Sammy that actually weakens and destroys westindies right in out faces.

when a section of the westindies with the rotating power at the wicb is in chage they usually try to get in a captain of the westindies from their section, favour their players etc. but these players must be good, worthy, capable.

Sobers verged on this equation with the inclusion of his cousin Holford. but Holford was good, certainly better than what Sammy is currently.

but as the power in the region swung to the Dots they have insisted on doing the most ridiculous and destructive things administratively and selection-wise..like the curent unwarranted persistance with Devon Smith, like Richardson the neophyte over the tried and proved Desmond Haynes....like the the inclusion of Amari Banks out of nowhere at all , because his cusin or uncle was a jefe at factgory Road. and now the captaincy to the clearly sub-par Sammy who upsets all calculations as far as team selection goes.
