I can roll with gayle back as batsman.
absolutely not as captain. no way shud gayle be westindian captain ever again.
gayle is a sort of idiot, ridiculous as a wesindian, hardly schooled in what is it is to be westindian.
dat is why he was a waste as skippe, an UN-Worrell..for actions like picking the whole yardie side for the westindian team, after holding skunt hunte to ransom over his first resignation.
gayle was like a petulant baby as captain. you could not get a decent long term commitment from him based on a reasonable view of things, of the westindies and any program he had for westindian development and a role he can play in it as captain of the westindies.
there was always the petulant threat that gayle wud resign and leave, go play ODI/T20
everybody have a view of the world and how deh wud like to live and work in it. THEIR PERSONALITY FLOWS FROM SUCH A VIEW, DEVELOPED AS DEH HAVE LIVED AND EXPERIENCED THE WORLD, THEIR IDEA OF LIFE AS A RESULT OF THAT, OF WHAT IS BAD AND GOOD AND WHAT IS NECESSARY TO MAKE LIFE BETTER ETC.
anyone can be judged based on their world view, how short or large it is, how useful it is, how encompassing it is... due to the job they do, at anything the do in life!
I mean I used to get pissed with gayle anytime I saw him speak, what he said, the things he did, how he did them.
for example one time he threatened or implied he would lead jamaic out of the region because of bad umpring in dung heap...umpiring he clealy felt disadvantaged jamaica and its chances in the competiton.
Gayle was then captain of jamaica and the westindies.
small potatoes did not(does) require anything but a small potatoes answer from him. yet he was prepared to pull jamaica out of the region instead...a capital response to a simple problem..when behind the scene he cud have used his influence as westindian captain to push for improved training for regional umpires

thats the low level kind of thing that is gayle..period.
that sort of level does nothing postive in leadership roles. we have enuff of it at factory road. we need more Lloyds and Worrells as westindian leaders at all levels of social life.
2 players I was looking forward to for great contributions in this regard were Darren ganga and Jimmy Adams.
the jury is still out on Adams. Ganga opened up his mouth, revealed a sectarian world view and is dead in my poin of view from the westindian angle. Ganga may have a role to play if Titty goes it alone.
if the future holds a westindian collective ganga is toast unless he demonstrably changes into the opposite of what he is now....undergoes an ideological operation so to speak

I don't have a problem with him issuing dat but I expect some sort of retraction from Gibbo also...if this happens its a win/win for WI cricket...If retraction is from Gayle only (which I doubt)...there will still be disharmony in dat dressing room...Gibbo and Gayle cannot share the same dressing room...What if Gayle issues a partial 'retraction', and the WICB accepts it?
This issue is way outta control...
