So i'm fine with his performance, BISHOO DIDN'T PLAY A SINGLE FOUR DAY MATCH FOR THE A-TEAM, and he was 25 when he made his debut for Wi at the world cup so anyone who thinks Narine is "old" for a spinner is plain stupid, i still think he's got a great chance of playing the ODI's in India and i think that would be a great experience for him, then after that he will play in the four day competition for Trinidad and i expect him to tear it up.
The point needs to be made that this is only Narine's third FC match ever, and he's taken a total of three wickets in his FC career to date. He's not yet ready at this level. He needs a full season with Trinidad next year to see if he can hack it at this level.

In limited overs cricket, you can take wickets by bowling tight and forcing the batsmen to take risks. However, in four-day cricket it's much more difficult to take wickets with defensive bowling. You need to have more in your arsenal in terms of attacking options, and we will see if he has those weapons if and when he plays for Trinidad next year.

WIAvBangA: In an absorbing contest so far WIA 59/2 off 23 overs. Hyatt 30*,Bonner 12*. Another 157 runs required for victory.

So, do you finally accept that Chandrika has performed poorly in this series, and should be dropped? Or are you still in favour of carrying batsmen who aren't performing?

WINvBangA: Batting infront of about 2 dozen spectators, WIA 49/2 - Hyatt 24* (52 balls), Bonner 7* - 19 Ovs.
I just can't fathom your biased attitude though Mike, in this game Chandrika has got 40 and 10, and you're running him down, but when Simmons got 7 and 44 against Bang in the first test YOU CLAIMED HE SHOULD PLAY IN THE NEXT TEST AND THEN PLAY AGAINST INDIA!! ,

Let me explain something to you again which didn't seem to register the first time i said it, CHANDRIKA IS A YOUNG OPENER, all the best young openers in the region ARE WITH THE WI SENIOR TEAM, so which opening pair would you play for the A-team? Simmons and who? Fletcher isn't an opener so don't embarrass yourself by trying to pick him there, i'm prepard to give the yute the next four day competition to show his class before i start writing him off thanks.

Well you were desperate for him not to play in the first place so of course you're gonna be a negative skunt!! "not yet ready for this level"? HOW MANY WICKETS DID PERMAUL TAKE? :| a kid who has tore up the four day competition over the last two years!!, personally i don't think the wicket was that spin friendly and until he bowls at least 20 overs in an innings i won't be judging him harshly, check the amount of overs he's bowled in the three FC games and then coma back and talk.

The Australians have always practised the policy of picking six good batsmen, and if a lot of them are middle-order batsmen, then one of them is converted into an opening batsman. They did that with Simon Katich, and they did that with Shane Watson.

Fletcher might not have opened the batting for the Windwards this season, but he has done it in the past, as WestDem has said. So, in light of Chandrika's failures, I think Fletcher should open the batting with Simmons in the next A team series. After all, Fletcher is only a year older than Chandrika....

It's not like the current opening bats are taking the shine off the ball. The middle order batsmen in this current A side are getting a lot of practice batting against the new ball....
:D
Then again, it's possible that Simmons may replace Powell in the next WI Test team as the backup to Barath and Brathwaite, in which case I would say Powell should open the batting with Fletcher for the A team.

Fletcher getting a RAW DEAL and yuh know it!! 8-)

Narine playing his third FC game and have a SR of 102 with a whopping 3 wickets taken...I am willing to give him a few more games to steady his ship but yuh on the otherhand said dat Kohli is a failure in TESTS after failing in his fuss 3 tests...yuh need to be consistent yuh skunt!

Yep just like i thought..GRANDPA MIKE IS IN RETARD MODE AGAIN!! ..let me get this straight, we should "convert" a batsman who's been scoring runs in the middle order just so we can drop Chandrika? THAT'S FECKING STUPID, first a foremost a player should bat WHERE HE'S COMFORTABLE, they tried to force Corbin into opening and it did nothing but dent his confidence,

Also as usual you've ducked the contradiction i pointed out concerning Simmons and even had the cheek to claim he should replace Powell? HOW SO WHEN HE HAD THE SAME SCORES AS CHANDRIKA IN HIS LAST GAME? you can't have it both ways Mike, Simmons overall test record is poor and if Chandrika should be dropped for his knocks in this test game then Simmons shouldn't be back in the Test squad for now if we go by your logic.
