westindies hit a winner here!
True that, and this is why Bishoo is ahead of Benn for now. Benn's only contribution to the team is bowling, he needs to work on his fielding, batting and attitude.

Looks like Afro and Jala abandon Bishoo already? :?

BP, I see you filling the void nicely 8-) It looks like India targeted newbie Bishoo after those quick wickets. Sammy bowled him too long during that session. Sammy lapsing as a specialist cappo.

Yes he took some stick after he took his wickets but lets remember this is only his FOURTH Test match and already he's got 12 wickets against Teams ranked higher than us, the boy is special man and the more he plays the better he will get imo, like i've been saying all along he could be our very own Warn or Murali if he continues to progress,

And he's not just picking on the lower order either, the man is consistantly getting out top batsmen, against Pak he got Ul Haq around five times in that series and yesterday he got Dravid, Laxman and Dhoni, those are NO "SECOND STRING" batsman that's for sure!! .

as a quality attacking leggie from the start I realised Bishoo was ahead of Benn. he is ahead of everybody in the region in spin.

yet I am not that hard on Benn. Benn can bat a bit and has held on for westindeis in the past.

and I dont see anything wrong with Benns attitude that proper administration, selection and leadership from the wicb wont cure!
Benn is a very good spin bowler, who can bowl forever, with consistentcy, focus and economy...in bad teams in which he was the only capable bowler and threat to the oppostion.

Benn would be the perfect complement to Bishoo if westindies went with 2 spinners. and there is no telling what Benn would accomplish with Bishoo in there..in a stronger team overall.

Benn has had the worst of it for some years and did a manful job.
we must give credit where it is due. Benn is in the same boat as Fidel was..not geting picked just at the moent when all things apepeared to be flwoing together to produce the best part of his career

I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THE WEST INDIES SHOCK INDIA---AND DEFEAT THEM IN JAMAICA.

But that might be WISHFUL THINKING. The Black Prince
dat wud be nice..but I do not expect the India great to fail twice. deh prolly were rusty but at least one of dem is likely score powerfully next time out.

westindies chance is to bat once. so deh must go all day today and most of tomorrow.

dat seems very wishful indeed

India's 2nd innings:

BISHOO NAILS MUKUND

Image
Bishoo to Mukund, OUT, Mukund loses his patience! What did he have during the drinks break? It is the quicker ball, he rocks back to cut, manages only a thick edge through to the keeper

A Mukund c †Baugh b Bishoo 25 (75b 3x4 0x6) SR: 33.33
Bishoo: 5-1-13-1

India 57/3

SAMMY GETS HIS 1ST WICKET IN THE MATCH

Sammy: 8-4-8-1

DID UMPIRE HARPER HAND BISHOO A GIFT ?
Bishoo to Raina, OUT, Gone! Bishoo gets one! Raina is not impressed... and this one doesn't look too good. Flat delivery on the pads, Raina goes for the sweep, and is hit high on the pad, after which the ball lobs up. Umpire Harper reckons there is some bat or pad involved. Off the first replay, I am not quite sure. Dravid gently pats Raina on his way back. Replays show no glove. Raina's pad, on the way to Baugh's thigh pad, and then through to Sammy at leg slip

SK Raina c Sammy b Bishoo 27 (53b 3x4 0x6) SR: 50.94
Gift or no gift--another wicket for Bishoo.

Bishoo now has 14 test wickets---playing in only his 3rd test.

KEEP BOWLING BISHOO BHAI. :D
