Basically everything boils down to the fact that our Players are not playing enough Cricket at the Regional level . This obviously affects every aspect of their game ; but more so in their abilities to be focused Mentally and Physically , and also their Physical and Mental Stamina .
They had Bangladesh on the Run when the latter were in double digits with 5 wickets down , and they allowed Bangladesh to reach triple digit figures . My take is that this was due to the fact that they are essentially Part Time Players . The Full Time Players of the Golden Eras of West Indies Cricket would have crushed Bangladesh for under 100 runs . Why ??? , because they had all the attributes to do exactly that , their batsmen had great powers of concentration to put up big numbers on the Scoreboards . Their bowlers , could bowl unchanged for over an hour , sadly that aint the case with bowlers on our current Team . WHY ? Because our current Players are not playing enough Cricket to be very competitive in the International Cricket Arena .
Now it isnt our Players that arrange the schedule for Regional Matches and decide the duration of these Tournaments ; nor do they also decide on the duration of the Camps .It is the WICB that does that . This is precisely why I am very critical of the WICB ; The fact that those who populate the WICB , cannot figure this out makes the WICB unfit to be in the governance of Cricket in the Region .
Check out how our Players are always more competitive towards an end of Tours rather than at the beginning of Tours . The reason is that for a very very brief period they are playing a lot of Cricket , and that makes them more competitive . This aint Rocket Science , simply good old commonsense . something that those who populate the WICB do not possess .
