Afro?
Still disagree!.. Roach is a match winner and he was our savior in SL and rightly got named man of the series!!, so dropping the yute now would be unfair, i'm sure he will come good in the next Test, as for Edwards being a better batter, i wouldn't bet on it

What do you mean "i never liked Shiv"? you dat stupid?!!

i've always said he's a LEGEND, but his recent form was utter garbage and i wanted him dropped, just like if Nash carries on batting like he did in this Test i'd want him out too, and everyone knows that i will go fecking mad if Smith's name is ever on the teamsheet again!!.. so i judge by PERFORMANCES, nothing else, if Shiv does well in the next Test then fair enough i won't be complaining about him!!

I actually quite agree with Afro's squad, with one difference....
I think it's too early to risk Brathwaite. I don't want us to create anothe Xavier Marshall. I would like to see him get another FC season under his belt, like Barath, before being considered.
Assuming that Gibson still feels that Barath is not fit enough, I would like to see the selectors pushing Marlon Samuels up the order to open the batting in this one-off Test only. I would do it primarily because Hafeez opened the bowling in both innings of the first Test, and a good way to counter that would be to use a middle-order batsman who's dominated our FC season recently. Samuels is much more competent at playing spin than Smith....
Sure, this may force Pakistan to resort back to using pacers Gul and Riaz, but on the dead batting track that is Warner Park, I don't think it will hold any serious terrors for Samuels.
1) Simmons
2) Samuels
3) Darren Bravo
4) Shiv
5) Sarwan
6) Nash
7) Baugh
8) Sammy
9) Bishoo
10 ) Roach
11) Rampaul

You want Marlon Samuels, a proven failure in tests(28.73 avg in 29 tests), opening the batting ?
WHAT IS IT ABOUT SAMUELS THAT INTRIGUES YOU, AFRO AND OTHER WI FANS ?
Did you see Marlon Samuels bat in the onedayers against Pakistan ?
Check out his scores in the 4 innings he batted in:
Samuels: 2, 29, 18, 8* = 57 runs = 19.00 avg
Marlon Samuels is a shythound!
But Shythounds like Marlon Samuels and Devon Smith will always be allowed to fail and fail and fail.

True, he struggled in the ODIs, but this is Test cricket....
Samuels did dominate the batting in our domestic four-day tournament, and so deserves a run. I would like to see him play against Pakistan in the second Test, but if not that match, then at least in the series against India. If he has a run and fails again, then I would have no argument if he's dropped.

That's typical you Mike!!.. always wanting the OLD BOYUS in the team instead of the great young talent!!

, Brathwaite has already had two FC season behind him plus he's played at A-team level many times and even got a ton, so needless to say i disagree with you, pushing Samuels up would only create issues imo, it's best to give an opener the chance to play, the boy has to gain experience soon and on that St-kits wicket he should be fine.
