I dont know how good phil simmons is! I know he was coaching with good success scotland or ireland or some such.
but his name is one in the mix I am sure.
I dont like Gibbo. he is not sophisticated, professional in his westindian relations. he certainly was in his english relations as an england coach. Gibbo is an Un-Worrell, a Bajan seperatist who prolly view a lot of other westindians with contempt
that is what his behaviour suggest to me. he is not concerned about the fallout from his actions. he spoke and acted towards senior players as if they were children
that is not a man of sophistication building professionalism in westindies cricket. he has sowed a lot of discord instead. and when I see westndies collapsing totally in games like deh did in this last ODI, I know its the coaches fault for not having his team ready to perform at its best win or lose.
that was absolutely unforgiveable..and in addition to all I have seen and reasoned out about him I would let Gibbo go immediately
I could never like man like Gibbo in any position of authority in westindies cricket.
in a similar way i have criticised Gayle who in his own way is equally anti-westindian, UN-Worrell, as Gibbo is

LOL you're so transparent Map!!!.. you don't like Gibbo BECAUSE HE LEARNED HIS TRADE OUTSIDE THE CARIBBEAN RIGHT? lord your prejudice has no bounds to rhatid!!

, the fact is IT'S ABOUT RESULTS!!.. and right now the only test series he's lost have been against the number one and two teams in the world, and those defeats have come at a time when we're rebuilding, i agree that the Sammy problem has to be fixed quickly, but apart from that the man has done NOTHING wrong, and unless something drastic happens i don't see him leaving anytime soon.

I dont see him leaving either. but he has let down and for all yuh have said here for the life of me I dont see how you of all people cannot admit that that 61 represented a lapse for Gibbo that requires serious consideration
(yuh) trying to inculcate an attitude in your players. no opportuity is to be wasted. we win the series already and it is the perfect opportunity to further instill the necessary attitude.
so despite the reserves being played...those to fill in if necessary... it was time for a demonstration of sticking to the task, going out to win as usual, preparing to win as usual.
Gibbo wold know his players..all of them, reserves, everybody. he would know that even against Bang those guys would have trouble especially in doctored conditions.
once observing the conditions a man of Gibbos experience and training should have had an idea of how to approach the game batting and bowling, work out a plan and have his players prepared to follow that plan to the letter.
if one man fooled around like Hyatt did the message to all in the dressing room shud have been " do not repeat that. you know what to do go do it"
I am saying that a coach who is on the ball, who knows his job may have lost anyway. but if the plan was in play and the approcah consistent with the plan Bang would have had to earn its victory..not have it given to them

I am sayng that after 2 years that shud not be happening to any Gibbo team. we ought to be seeing a consistent appraoch to games by the westindies team..regardless.
that is the least he can do..make sure the guys are always ready to play the game properly.
so he stays for sure. I know that. but now we shud be to expect at least that there will be no further let down in appraoch to the game and in the play of the team... win or lose.
that is what instilling professionalsim is all about..CONSISTENTCY In APPROACH...developing the way to win and playing it...even if you dont win...for the time being. winning will kick-in soon enuff... or ultimately when ablity, approach and attitude coincide.
I will be watching

Look no-one's happy about that performance, i'm very bitter about it and i can't wait for tomorrow so the guys can set the record straight, BUT FREAK RESULTS HAPPEN, at least the 61 was against our reserves team in a rubber match, DO YOU REMEMBER WHAT HAPPENED IN FEBUARY 2009 AT SABINA PARK? we were playing England!!.. and same exact team who are top of the world right now, AND WHAT HAPPENED? WE MURDERED THEM FOR 51 AND WON THE MATCH!!, that day we would have killed anybody, but did England fall apart? no they lost the series and haven't lost one since then, that's why i'm not judging Gibbo on this 61, i'm more upset with the so called "captain" for failing to inspire his fellow team mates.
