Hi, just reflecting on that batting performance in this game. From the very first ball the batsmen seemed unsure of themselves - as if they had prior notice that the track was going to take spin and were consequently psyched-out of a positive appraoch to batting.
It really made for sorry viewing and if you get a chance to look at the shot that Samuels got out to - not only at the shot itself but his whole body shape during the execution - it was pathetic!
Does anyone have a clue why these batsmen can't play spin?!!! Is a turning track such a mystery to young WI batsmen??? For crying out loud! All Bangledesh has to do is prepare turning wickets for the test series and ... game over!

This a good game where the home team prepared a wicket to suite em and they have the results to show. The Test will play at the same venue so expect more of the same..

Yes, you may have something there about the impact of the ball before. Is it realy mediocrity at international level or that at international level the opposition players have a much better technique than the WI players?? I think the latter has a lot to do with it. I wonder how much being a successful player of spin is due to technique, knowledge, patience, gutsiness and self-belief.
Don't want to mix topics but I have expressed my views on Sarwan's recent performances elsewhere on the site - him being currently on the bench does not surprise me. He remains an lbw candidate having not eradicated the tendency to play around his front pad.

The quality spinners our batsmen are facing in the WI and not internationally ready but these same spinners contimues to dominate our regional competition year after year...I see the reason for this is our batsmen continue to try and get runs off the spinners in a hurry....with regards to Sars...I think he is mentally messed up and with the injury after injury...he probably should consider a career shift...
