Is Sarwan’s axing a case of vindictiveness?

According to chairman of the West Indies selectors Clyde Butts, a new phase of West indies cricket is about to begin. But if the pathetic handling of the Ramnaresh Sarwan fitness issue is the start, nothing less than the invoking of Sir Frank Worrell’s powers of common sense and professionalism, is required to save the regional game from continued chaos.

Sarwan was inexplicably axed from the touring squad to Sri Lanka and the excuse provided was symptomatic of an organization still steeped in acute ineptness.
