Trescothick offered huge pay-out to pass Pollard’s hit

London - Cricket star Marcus Trescothick has been promised a whopping bonus if he can achieve one of cricket's most elusive feats. The current Somerset and former England batsman will be given the huge pay-out if he can smash a ball over the historic Pavilion at Lord's in any 20- or 40-over game at the home of cricket.Only once has somebody managed to clear the Pavilion with a shot and that was way back in 1899 when Australian Albert Trott cleared the 50-foot building while playing for the Marylebone Cricket Club.

Here are the British trying to emulate Pollard and we tear the kid apart .WE call him a club cricketer.
Isn't Trescothick playing club cricket and will try to hit it out of Lords .

true thing Soca... why Mongoose didn't ask Pollard to do it again?

No offense but Pollard at the moment can only beat balls, field excellently and give you good make up overs. He doesn't cut it as an ODI and Test batsman as yet. If he doesn't make a 50 in the upcoming ODI's in Sri Lanka, then he really needs help.

No offense taken Whiteboy.
Picture this situation if you are in charge you have numerous kids with potential . Lets pick a few name's
Pollard, Xman , deo Ramdhin etc etc
Rampaul , Roach , Gabriel etc etc
Plus some good ones at the U19 level .
Wouldn't it be prudent thing to get a batting coach , a bowling coach and a keeper Coach , teach them on the
key aspects of being interviewed on TV and radio , and some basic life skills to help them . Every 3 months
a refresher till they get the concept.Show them what fitness means and how it can improve their skills.
Has any one done anything to help these kids to the next level ?
Where is the WICB ? The HPC will not do , they dont have the proper individuals there .
If the WICB helps in areas that these players are weak at and they fail , we have tried .
Any player out there who were given such help and opportunity ? No
