linkVeteran paceman Chaminda Vaas is set to make a comeback into the Sri Lanka ODI team for the five-match series against the West Indies starting on December 9.
Despite retiring from Test cricket Vaas put off any thoughts of a retirement from limited overs cricket and produced some nudging performances in the English country circuit which has prompted the selectors to consider the left arm paceman who has more than 400 wickets to his credit in ODI cricket.
“Yes we are seriously looking at inviting him back into the one-day team. He’ll be an asset if he can make it”, a selection committee source told the Daily Mirror yesterday.
It is learnt that the playing kit measurements of Vaas have already being sent to the team’s official clothing supplier.
His performance against the West Indies will decide his position in the World Cup.
Wonder what Gayle is thinking?
