The United Chargers maintained their unbeaten run when they defeated the Pakistan Magic in the finals of the Cricket Council USA sponsored three-day 2010 US Open T20 Cricket Champions tournament last Sunday at the Lauderhill Cricket Stadium, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
In their opening game last Friday, the Chargers, without their Test player Ramnaresh Sarwan who missed the competition, beat Virginia Warriors by 46 runs after making 145 in their 20 overs and dismissing the Warriors for 99 in the 18th over.
The Warriors encountered plenty of problems negotiating former Guyana and West Indies leg-spinner Mahendra Nagamootoo who got support from David Mohamed, Rashad Marshall and Skipper Steve Massiah.
In the second game, played on the same day, under flood-lights, the Chargers were again victorious, this time at the expense of the NY Dodgers who reached 89 in 16 overs with the Chargers replying with 93 in 15 overs.
