President of the West Indies Cricket Board Dr. Julian Hunte has said that the WICB is ensuring that it aligns the best interest of cricket with how the sport is evolving as a global product in order to exploit financial and sponsorship opportunities.

“Twenty20 cricket has presented tremendous challenges but also fantastic opportunities for governing bodies. Some will benefit more and sooner from these opportunities than others. In the Caribbean scenario, principally it is the players and the fans who are the ones benefitting most,” Dr Hunte said last week during an interview for the forthcoming Caribbean Twenty20 Tournament Guide.

If he wants to crack the global market, why not invited one Indian team since they have the biggest T20 market.

WICB gone to Vegas now....  Hunte is a high roller eh bwoy?

What is the rate of return on this global exploit? When will Hunte's investment come to fruition? Where is the research to show that this is a sound investment?

Hunte might as well open a margin account with Boomer to manage it in the US stock market for a solid return. :D

the global market ripe eh?

West Indies only hosted their first T20 in the summer which completed within a week. All the other ICC members are ahead of the WI in this format of the game. If the Market is so ripe in a global recession, why the other nations didn't exploit it already?

hmmm...Maybe WICB is a trend setter :)

WE have seen that the WICB seems unable to attract Regional Sponsors , that being the case , how the hell is it going to attract Businesses from outside the Region ??. I am of the belief that the WICB is trying to set in place Financial Sponsors to get funds from when the Digicel Contract expires .

Now if when the Digicel Contract expires if it is not renewed or changes are made that encourages Regional Sponsors to again become partners with the WICB , that will signify that my analysis regarding the Digicel Contract was & is correct .

Point,
Why do you think the locals biz don't want anything to do with WI cricket? WI brand is broken and busted! We need people that know how to manage run the cricket. Time to outsource WICB to capable hands...

Who approved this global exploit? I want names so them can take the credit or blame when time to share it out...

Maps if we had accountability and/or transparency I wouldn't have to ask these questions Or read it in the Trinidad Guardian ;)

Look , when those potential get to realize that Digicel has control of the WICB , they are going to run for the Hills . Wait also when they find out that the WICB has been on the losing end of all its disputes with the Players .
