I have problems calling people crook..or crooked!
for the simple reason that crookedness is built into life. its endemic and almost all people are crooked as a result . and those who are not, the very small minority who may not be crooked are seen as fools and a-holes, must to villify and parody!
crookedness is the norm and honesty the abnormality in life.
Sanfords problem, as with all crooks is that he got caught. di'ze all there is to it. the system went after Stamford as it did not go after madoff, until the bubble burst and there was no way to save him.
all crookedness is known from the start. cannot be otherwise. systematically yiou have to be involved in crookedness if you are businessman, politician or bureaucrat.
if you are a professional - lawyer, doctor, teacher, whatever... you are either a crook or participating in a system that requires you to do that which is wrong, for profit and perks for yourself and the associated corporations and government departments, or lose your status, or derail your career if you are honest, straight-forward and above board.
all prosecution of crookedness depend entirely on who you are and the influence you have, can muster etc. the system is totally crooked and all who get prosecuted are so for political reasons, or racial reasons..never on the bais of pure honesty or in effort to cleam up the social process.
by definition those who run a crooked system, would not, indeed cannot clean it up. to clean up themselves crrooks would have to admit their culpability and risk prosecution themselves. dat does not compute.
by such assesment Sentford was a normal crookd fella who dropped a lot of money into the westindian cricket sinkhole

Maps, Stanford got caught with his pants down for his financial dealings, not cricket.
Regarding cricket, history will look upon him very kindly!
the IPL stole his ideas about a T20 league!!
WI cricketers finally got paid some decent money because of him.
Similar to what Packer did for ODI Cricket, Standford did the same for T20. With one exceptio, he was back stabbed by the IPL crooks and the Indian board!
From a cricketing perspective, he was a hero!

From a cricket perspective I have to say HERO!Googley wrote:In terms of WI cricket, where would you rank Stanford? and Why?
Stanford was a pioneer in the T20 cricket and backed it up with his money (or other ppl money). He invested in the cricket , where he built the Standford stadium, and his sticky wicket restaurants @ the Stanford complex. He created a group of ex WI player called Stanford legends to help him with cricket. The same players the board constantly ignoring ... Stanford invested in all the islands and gave players opportunity they currently don't have under WICB setup. He brought cricket to America via ESPN and that city in Denver.
What about the Twenty for Twenty one off game? That is the most money ever paid out for a single game or series in the history of cricket.
Standford show that if the players take part in productive camps they can compete with anyone. do you guys remember the 6 weeks camp he held before the T20 against England?
WICB inaugural T20 only paid out a paltry 25K compared to 1 Million.
Compare his work during that time Standford was showing up the WICB.
Fact, Standord even went out of his way to entertained the England WAGS.
Standford was like God in Antigua, everyone wanted to touch him. Did you guys watch the Stanfords series? He even ran the bank of Antigua.
Thus Sanford is a HERO.
Even poster Krishna had a forum name after Stanford.

as far as cricket is concened I have no problem with the involvement of Stanford.
yuh also right that wicb stabbed him in the back. the indian borad to but I not concerned with dem. dem fellas in the BCCi are tears, a unique case of deveiltry..all. I jess turn mih head.
the wicb is deviltry but just arse-h devils. deh still young and stupid in wickedness...more stupid dan wicked because deh kill de goose dat lays gold eggs, and try to plumb de feathers fuh value.

sandford shud get out of jail, with a long memory, make plenty money again and pay a visit to the westindies to say hello to skunt hunte!
